‘The Mirror’ , Wall Magazine 2025, Department of English, Chhaygaon College.

On September 25, 2024, our department's wall magazine, "Mirror," was officially inaugurated by Dr. Jilmil Bora, the Head of the English Department at Dakhin Kamrup College,Mirza. The vice principal of Chhaygaon College also attended the event. The theme of this year's wall magazine was "Assamese Gothic-lore." The students showcased their artistic, literary, and crafting skills through the magazine. We would like to thank Jogesh Bhattacharyya for being the guide throughout . Dr. Jilmil Bora, HoD(English )Dakhin Kamrup College , Mirza, visited our department to teach the 5th Semester students on 25/09/2023. This visit was in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for inter-institutional collaboration .

On May 22, 2024, the Department of English, Chhaygaon College organised a seminar on 'Syllabus Topic.' The event saw enthusiastic participation form the students, who used the opportunity to prepare for their upcoming exams . Prof. Manoj Kumar Goswami, the resource person, shared his valuable insights on areas for improvement and offered guidance for their future endeavours.

The department enthusiastically accepts the third prize in the interdepartmental wall magazine competition. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Kamal Thakuria, Vice-Principal, Chhaygaon College , Dr. Phanindra Kalita, Head of the department of Political Science , and Akash Deep Das, the literary and magazine secretary, for presenting the prize.

The Department of English commemorated the 90th birthday anniversary of the renowned Jnanpith Awardee, Nilamani Phookan, on September 12, 2023. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Poet Mr. Bhushan Kalita , Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese, Chhaygaon College, for graciously sharing his insights into the poet and his personal connection with the poet during the celebration.
