🌸 Learning a new language takes courage—and every attempt is a step forward.

She is Saina Rai, a student of Class 9 Kewzing Senior Secondary School, sharing her self-introduction in the Bhutia (Lhokay) language after participating in the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp.

Although Bhutia is not her mother tongue, she accepted the challenge with confidence. She may pause and search for a few words along the way, but that’s exactly how language learning happens—through practice, patience, and the courage to speak.

Her effort reminds us that making mistakes is not something to fear; it is part of every learner’s journey.

👏 Well done, Saina! May your enthusiasm inspire many more students to learn and preserve our beautiful languages.

“Every fluent speaker was once a beginner.” ❤️

🌿 Summer vacation has begun… but household chores never take a vacation! 😄

Why not make our daily work a way to learn our mother tongue?

In today’s reel:
🪵 Dra-Shey – to saw wood.
🪵 Enta – the flat wooden beam shown in this video.
💪 Daa-Shey – to carry and transport the Enta to another place.

Dra-Shey and Daa-Shey may sound similar, but they have completely different meanings. A small difference in pronunciation can change the meaning of a word!

Let’s continue learning Lhokay through the things we do every day. One word at a time, one reel at a time.

One English word, four different words in Lhokay! 🤯
The English word “Tie” changes depending on the context:
🪢 Tum – tie a rope📦 Dham – tie a sack/bundle tightly🧣 Ching – tie a scarf/belt🐄 Tak – tie an animal to a post
This shows how rich and precise the Lhokay language is. ❤️
