It was a special moment to return to Deorali Girls’ Senior Secondary School, a place that has been part of my early schooling journey when I was a student there back when it was a co-ed school.. and now to be invited as the Guest of Honour for the farewell programme of the Class 12 students. Life has taken a full circle.. 😊

Addressing the outgoing students, I shared a simple thought, the foundation built within these school walls will guide them through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The values, discipline and learning they carry forward will shape not just their careers, but their character.

Wishing all the students strength, clarity and success as they step into a new chapter.

Saving is important but teaching our children only to save is no longer enough. As parents and educators we must prepare children for real life and that includes helping them understand money, financial discipline and the basics of investment from a young age.

I believe financial literacy is not just an added lesson. It is a life skill that can shape more responsible, confident and aware individuals. The sooner we begin these conversations at home and in our schools the better prepared our children will be for the future.

Because education should not only help them pass examinations, it should help them navigate life with wisdom and confidence.

Being featured in Forbes India means means more to me than I can fully put into words.. And to be honest, my first thought isn’t about recognition. It is about the people who have made every step of Mount Zion’s journey possible.

To our teachers: your consistency and heart shape this school every single day.
To our students: your curiosity and courage are the reason this work matters.
To our parents: your trust continues to guide and strengthen us.
And to our staff: thank you for the steady support that holds everything together.

The path we’re on from introducing thoughtful digital learning to building the Green Campus has grown from this shared belief and commitment. It’s a journey we’re still on and I am grateful for everyone who chooses to walk it with us.

Thank you for being part of this story. There is much more ahead and we will continue giving our best together.

Attending DIDAC India 2025 in New Delhi: one of Asia’s leading exhibitions where educators, innovators and institutions come together to explore the future of teaching and learning. Being there reminded me why, at Mount Zion School, we place so much importance on the growth of our educators.

Every idea shared at DIDAC reinforced a simple truth I believe in deeply: when teachers evolve, students thrive.

Experiences like this help me bring fresh perspectives back to our team, so we can continue creating a future-ready, nurturing environment for every child who walks into our school.

What an inspiring experience at the DigiSapne 2.0 & Northeast AI Startup Acceleration Program Demo Day at AIC-SMUTBI. As part of the investment committee, I had the privilege of hearing 12 brilliant tech-driven startups from across the Northeast present their ideas after six months of intense mentoring. Their passion and clarity of vision were truly energising.

Moments like these remind me why, at Mount Zion School, we work to spark the same spirit of curiosity and innovation in our own students. The entrepreneurial drive I witnessed today is exactly what our young people can aspire to.

This initiative backed by the Government of India and the Governments of North Eastern States along with Sikkim is a wonderful stepping-stone for the region’s startup ecosystem. Congratulations to the 10 startups who each received a ₹10 lakh grant under DigiSapne and the Startup India Seed Fund.

It’s exciting to see the Northeast shaping its own future and to play a small part in that journey.

When I look at the future of our children, I know that academics alone will never be enough. Therefore when I was at the India Today’s Sikkim@50 Conference, I shared what I hold close to my heart that our children must grow with a strong value system, with life skills that carry them through challenges, with the ability to understand and use technology meaningfully, and with the spirit of independence that helps them think like innovators and providers rather than dependents.

This, to me, is how we can truly prepare the next generation, not just for success, but for leadership and service.

At Mount Zion School, we have always believed that education must prepare students not just for examinations, but for life itself. This year, I am proud to share a significant step forward, the introduction of specialized NEET & JEE coaching on our campus, guided by faculty from Kota.

For the first time in Sikkim, our students can access world-class mentoring for India’s toughest entrance exams without stepping outside their school environment. This initiative reflects our vision of empowering every Mount Zion student to dream bigger, aim higher, and compete with confidence on the national stage.

On World Entrepreneurs Day, I’m sharing a glimpse of a recent Business School session I conducted for our senior students at Mount Zion School.

Financial literacy is a cornerstone of entrepreneurship: understanding money, making smart decisions, and thinking critically are essential skills for future innovators. This session was designed to give students a head start in building those skills and nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset.

Hearing their reflections and how the session inspired them was truly rewarding, it’s areminder of why fostering curiosity and practical skills in young minds is so important. And at Mount Zion, we are building leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
