Report on Quiz Competition as an Extra-Curricular Activity
*Theme: 50 Years of Statehood*

To celebrate the golden jubilee of Sikkim becoming the 22nd state of India, our school organised an inter-house quiz competition on *2nd May 2026*. The aim was to spread awareness about Sikkim’s history, culture, progress, and achievements over the last 50 years among students of *Classes V to X*.

The quiz was hosted by *Mrs. Tsezen Roy*, with *Mrs. K.C. Bhutia* as the scorekeeper and *Mr. H.N. Pradhan* as the timekeeper. The competition included rounds on Sikkim’s history, geography, famous personalities, and milestones in its 50-year journey. Students in the audience also got a chance to answer questions and won pens, keeping everyone engaged. All the houses participated with full enthusiasm and team spirit.

The Headmaster, *Mr. G.K. Bista*, concluded the event by stating that the quiz was both fun and educational. He said that students learned a lot about Sikkim’s inspiring journey from 1975 to 2025. He further congratulated all the teams and appreciated the quiz master for successfully conducting the event.

A Parent-Teacher Meeting (Primary section)was successfully held at CS Rai Secondary School on 21.04.2026.The meeting was very fruitful with active participation from parents. Valuable feedback and suggestions were shared, which will help in improving students learning and overall development.It also strengthened the bond between parents and teachers ensuring better support for the children’s progress.

During the meeting,key aspects of the “NEP 2020 “were discussed,highlighting its focus on holistic development and skill based learning.Parents were made aware of the importance of supporting their children in developing critical thinking and creativity at home as well.

The significance of Aadhaar and APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) cards was also explained.Parents were informed that these are essential for maintaining students academic records,ensuring smooth access to educational benefits and tracking their progress throughout their learning journey.

Punctuality was strongly emphasized as an important habit for both students and parents.Regular attendance and timely arrival at school help children stay disciplined focused and consistent in their studies,contributing greatly to their overall success.

Parents of students with outstanding attendance and cleanliness were felicitated with a small token of appreciation.

Governor Adopted C.S. Rai Govt. Secondary School, Arithang successfully conducted an insightful workshop on “Using My Career Advisor App” on 13th April 2026.

C. S. Rai Government Secondary School, Arithang, successfully observed a Bagless Day as part of the NEP 2020 initiative. On this occasion, students of Classes VIII to X were taken on an enriching educational excursion to the Sikkim State Archives, Ridge Park, and the Palace.

The trip aimed to provide experiential learning beyond the classroom, allowing students to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Sikkim. At the State Archives, students had the unique opportunity to view old documents and gain valuable insights into the region’s history, thanks to the informative session conducted by Tashi Wangyal Sir from the Culture Department.

The excursion was conducted under the guidance and care of our dedicated teachers: Shraddha Ma’am, Puja Ma’am, Laden Ma’am, Kunga Ma’am, Soma Ma’am, Tenzing Ma’am, Tsezen Ma’am, and Dechen Ma’am, whose support ensured the smooth and successful ex*****on of the trip.

A special note of gratitude to Kunchok Lhamu Ma’am for her assistance throughout the program and for thoughtfully arranging snacks for the students.

C. S. Rai Government Secondary School, Arithang, enthusiastically observed Bagless Day in alignment with the vision of NEP 2020, creating a joyful and engaging learning environment for students of Classes V to VII.

On this special day, under the guidance of Teachers students actively participated in a variety of creative and physical activities beyond their regular classroom routine. The campus came alive with vibrant expressions of talent as students engaged in drawing, painting, dancing, and aerobics. These activities not only nurtured their creativity but also promoted physical fitness, teamwork, and self-expression.

The initiative aimed to provide a stress-free learning experience while encouraging holistic development, allowing students to explore their interests and abilities in a fun and interactive way.

🌸 Celebrating Women’s Day at Governor Adopted C S Rai Government Secondary School, Arithang 🌸

International Women’s Day was celebrated with great warmth and appreciation at Governor Adopted C S Rai Government Secondary School, Arithang, Sikkim, through a special assembly organized by the students of Class X.

Our respected women teachers looked graceful in pink, symbolizing strength, compassion, and unity. The assembly was filled with heartfelt messages, appreciation, and gratitude for the invaluable role women educators play in shaping young minds.

The program featured several wonderful performances by the students. A beautiful self-composed poem was presented by Robin Chettri. The program was gracefully hosted by the School Captain, Iswari Chettri, who served as the Master of Ceremony. A short and meaningful skit was performed by Dawa and group, followed by an inspiring speech by Aniket Gurung. The celebration also included a melodious group song presented by the students of Class 10, making the occasion even more special.

As a token of love and respect, the students of Class 10 presented small gifts to all the female teachers, expressing their sincere appreciation for their guidance, dedication, and constant support.

It was truly a beautiful moment of gratitude, celebrating the inspiring women who make our school community stronger every day.
