An awareness programme on National Scholarship Schemes 2026 was conducted at Ranka Senior Secondary School and Burtuk Secondary School under the directive of Hon’ble MLA, Upper Burtuk, Smt. Kala Rai.

The programme aimed to sensitise students about various scholarship schemes under the Social Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, including eligibility, application procedures, and the last date of submission—30 September 2026.

The programme was attended by Mrs. Priscilla Rai, Deputy Director, Ranka Block. Mr. Phintso Bhutia and Mr. Siddharth Neopaney, Executive Members, Sikkim Teachers’ Association. Resource persons included Mr. Tsewang Topden, Mrs. Meena Gurung, and Ms. Srijana Karkidoli , Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department.

Students were encouraged to apply within the stipulated deadline and avail themselves of the benefits of the scholarship schemes.

Amongst many agendas the OoSc, Aadhar seeding, EMMIS, NMV, Connect to Earth,Scholarships,ToFEI, Corporal punishment, Leaves, and the celebration of Block level Teachers’ day were discussed.

A school visit to Katuk V. Sagar PS was done by the Deputy Director Mrs Priscilla Rai, HM Mrs Mina Gurung, CRC Mrs Srijana Kharga and DEO Deoashish Thapa.
The academic progress, MDM and overall progress of the students were monitored.

A training programme was conducted today for all the Heads of Institutions (HOIs) of schools under the Ranka Block.

The Resource Persons, Mr. Tsheten Tshering Lepcha and Sameer Pradhan (Bussiness Development Associates,NETSPEQ SOLUTIONs) conducted the session by providing hands-on training on the designated subject and addressed the queries and concerns raised by the HOIs.

The Deputy Director, Mrs Priscilla Rai also addressed the participants and stressed the importance of expediting the Aadhaar seeding of all students, directing the HOIs to ensure that the process is completed at the earliest. He further instructed all HOIs to ensure that eligible teachers are enrolled on the Prashast App without delay.

The Deputy Director reiterated that the foremost priority of all schools should be academic excellence. He urged the aspiring schools to strengthen their academic interventions, enhance learning outcomes, and work diligently towards achieving higher academic standards through effective planning, regular monitoring, and committed implementation.
The Forum had the presence of the BAC officials and HOIs and dealing hands from all Govt and PVT schools.
