Hello Guys.
Tesseract, the annual technical fest of PDPU is back and we will not keep things low so to take things to the zenith of the skies we have AVIONICS bringing us Aerosweep, the drone race event. The skies are set and so is the marvelously designed track for the race.
So better be prepared for the inevitable.
The event has been scheduled on 19th November at PDPU 10 am on wards with
1st prize 15000
2nd prize 11000
3rd prize 9000
Accommodation facilities have been arranged too.

Hello Folks,
We here at AVIONICS believe in sharing our thirst of knowledge with you guys. So as an initiative we would be posting a technical fact or answer questions everyday for our Techno Freaks out there.
Fact of the day :
Why do quadcopters have four rotors while helicopters usually have just one ?
The reason for the very same is that large helicopters are designed to optimize efficiency, while quadcopters are designed to minimize complexity. If you take a close look at a helicopter rotor you would realise the complexity involved and on a small drone, there isn’t room for such a complex mechanism on a quadcopter.
The question should be, why are there helicopters with just one main rotor? Why go to the trouble of such a complex mechanism? The answer is that larger propellers are more efficient. Four-propeller quadcopters tend to be less efficient, but that’s OK because they are simple and lightweight and can deal with the lower efficiency of smaller propellers.
Also, having 4 rotors in a helicopter would mean you would need 4 such engines or a very complex drive system which would be a nightmare.
Feel free to ping us any time!
Come togehter, Learn together.
