🎓 Chemical Engineering Seminar Series
📢 Join us for an insightful seminar on
“Thin Gap Rheology”
🧪 by Prof. Abhijit P. Deshpande, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Madras
đź—“ Date: October 10, 2025
🕒 Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM
📍 Venue: Academic Block 5 / 202
Abstract:
Rheology under flow confinement, where the gap size is comparable to the material’s length scale, has gained significance in fields like lubrication, coating, and food oral processing. Thin gap rheology can lead to remarkable changes such as altered viscosity, yield stress, shear thickening, and elasticity variations.
In this talk, Prof. Deshpande will review the fascinating rheological behavior of particulate systems and gels under such confined conditions.
🔬 Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the complexities of thin gap flow behavior and its impact across multiple applications!
