IIT Gandhinagar Celebrates 14th Convocation Ceremony
On June 21, 2025, IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN) celebrated its 14th Convocation Ceremony with immense pride and enthusiasm. This landmark event honored the graduating students of the MSc Cognitive Science programme, recognizing both their outstanding academic achievements and their holistic growth.
The ceremony commenced with an academic procession, followed by the Director’s Report presented by Prof. Rajat M***a, Director of IITGN, and the conferment of degrees.
We were honored to welcome Mr. Aditya Ghosh, Co-founder of Akasa Air, as the Chief Guest. He addressed the graduating batch, offering his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for their future endeavors.

We had the privilege of hosting Prof. Amit Sethi from the University of Utah for our Cognitive and Brain Sciences seminar. Prof. Sethi shared cutting-edge research on “Hand rehabilitation after moderate-to-severe stroke using non-invasive brain stimulation and functional electrical stimulation.”

Event Recap: Advances in NeuroRehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Workshop
Prof. Yogesh Kumar Meena, Assistant Professor, Department of Cognitive and Brain Sciences recently hosted a successful two-day workshop on Advances in NeuroRehabilitation and Assistive Technologies at IIT Gandhinagar! This event brought together experts from around the world to discuss and showcase innovative solutions in neurorehabilitation.
Highlights:
International Collaboration: Featured a live demo of a groundbreaking neurorehabilitation system combining non-invasive Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology with a custom-designed hand exoskeleton.
Expert Discussions: Focused on BCI-driven stroke rehabilitation, fostering collaboration and advancing neurorehabilitation through cutting-edge technologies.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Vaibhav Tripathi as a new Assistant Professor at Department of Cognitive and Brain Sciences, IIT Gandhinagar.
Dr. Vaibhav works in the areas of multimodal neuroimaging techniques such as EEG/MEG/fMRI. His research is focused on large-scale brain organization, multisensory attention, working memory, and meditation studies that bridge Yogic and Cognitive Sciences.
He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University's Buckner Lab, focusing on large-scale brain networks and cognition before joining IIT Gandhinagar. He holds a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, an M.Tech from IIIT Delhi, and a Ph.D. in Brain, Behavior, and Cognition from Boston University.
