World Maritime Day reminds us of the vital role of maritime transport in connecting nations, supporting global trade, and sustaining economies. It also highlights the importance of safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible shipping, while recognising the dedication of seafarers and maritime professionals around the world.

The IMO theme for 2026–2027, “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence”, calls for global maritime policies and regulations to be translated into effective action—strengthening safety, security, environmental protection, training and sustainable maritime practices.

At DPS Firozabad, we encourage our students to understand the significance of our oceans and the maritime sector, and to become responsible citizens committed to protecting our seas and building a sustainable future.

🌍 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SIGN LANGUAGES 2026 🤟 2026 Theme: “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights”

Observed every year on 23 September, the International Day of Sign Languages highlights the vital role of sign languages in ensuring communication, inclusion, dignity, and equal participation for deaf people. The United Nations recognises sign languages as fully developed natural languages and emphasises their importance in the realisation of human rights.

The year 2026 holds special significance as it marks the 75th anniversary of the World Federation of the Deaf and 20 years since the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

At DPS Firozabad, we believe that every voice deserves to be understood and every individual deserves to be included. Let us foster a culture of empathy, accessibility, respect, and equal opportunity for all. 💙🤟

Our school successfully participated in the International Level Talent Search Competition, organised by the Centre for Educational Development and Research (CEDR).

The competition was conducted during the months of August and September 2026 for students from Classes Nursery to 10.

Students participated with great enthusiasm in various categories, including Painting, Handwriting, Drawing, and Rangoli.

All the HRTs actively enrolled their students in different competitions and ensured maximum participation.

The initiative provided a wonderful platform for our students to showcase their creativity and talent at an international level. All the participants were encouraged and were very happy to be a part of this competition.

We congratulate all our young achievers and thank the HRTs for their valuable support.

The Department of English organised an engaging Inter-House English Debate Competition for students of Grades IX–XII on the thought-provoking theme:

“Youth, Technology & Democracy: A Force for Progress or Just a Source of New Challenges?”

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of our Principal, Dr Gaurav Dubey, and Vice Principal, Mr Ajay Kumar Anand. Their insightful addresses inspired students to think critically, express their views confidently, and develop a deeper understanding of contemporary issues.

The competition was enriched by the presence of the esteemed judges, whose valuable observations and thoughtful evaluation added depth and encouragement to the proceedings.

Our students presented their ideas with remarkable confidence, clarity and enthusiasm, putting forth well-reasoned arguments and diverse perspectives. Their impressive participation reflected strong communication skills, critical thinking and a commendable spirit of healthy debate.

🌹 World Rose Day | 🌹 A Tribute to Hope, Courage and Compassion

World Rose Day is observed every year on 22 September to express solidarity with cancer patients and their families, spread awareness about cancer, and remind those facing the disease that they are surrounded by care, support and hope.

The day is associated with the inspiring story of Melinda Rose, a young cancer patient whose courage and efforts to bring hope and happiness to others continue to inspire people around the world.

On this day, let us recognise the strength of cancer patients and survivors, appreciate the unwavering support of caregivers, and promote a culture of empathy, awareness and compassion.
