Joseph Convent School is a Christian minority school under the Management of CMC sisters, a religious order founded in Kerala in 1866, in order to impart education to women and children. It is one of the innumerable set up by the above order where lives of young girls and boys, belonging to different religious communities and linguistic groups are being shaped and molded. Joseph Convent School is
affiliated to the council for the Indian School Certificate Examination which has the statutory recognition of the Govt. The school has strength of 2000 students with 64 members on the faculty of the teaching staff. National integration, social upliftment of the women and the weaker section of the society, freedom of thought, expression and belief, equality of status and opportunity are a few goals that are reinforced in the school pledge. Each Josephites is expected to adhere all his life to what he pledges day after day. Discipline, Punctuality, Uniform dress code, Regular Examination is the other tools employed by the school management to shape the children under its care into future torch bears of society. To inculcate in children the qualities of team spirit, self-confidence and initiative, sports are given due importance. Educational tours, excursion and picnics are organized during the academic year. School also boasts of a library which has books on all subjects besides a number of periodicals and journals. The library is regularly updated. Last but not the least; social service is an integral part of the school’s curriculum. Children are encouraged to visit nearby village for literacy campaigns, cleanliness-drives etc. They celebrate major religious festivals along with the children from orphanages, blind school and inmates of leprosy colony.
