The Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with Kheti Virasat Mission, organized a one-day national seminar on “Millets: Nature’s Functional Superfood” to promote awareness about the nutritional, environmental, and economic benefits of millets. The event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Prit Pal Singh and addressed by Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing. Keynote speaker Dr. Ruchika Bhardwaj from PAU Ludhiana shared insights on millet breeding, while Dietician Kamal Bajwa spoke on health benefits. Ms. Sandeep Kaur from Gurdaspur gave a live cooking demo, and Sardar Gurmukh Singh, the “Kodra Farmer” from Batala, shared his millet farming journey. A product exhibition by Ms. Sarbjeet Kaur and an essay writing competition added great value to the seminar.
