🌸 A Special Teacher’s Day Honour 🌸

Teacher’s Day becomes even more meaningful when we celebrate the people who inspire us not only through their teaching, but also through their dedication, leadership and genuine commitment to their students and institution.

On this special occasion, Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Head, Department of English and Director, IQAC, was felicitated in appreciation of her valuable contribution to teaching, academic leadership and institutional development.

The honour was presented by Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs; Prof. (Dr.) Tejbir Singh, Registrar; and Prof. (Dr.) Navdeep Kaur, Dean Research.

It was a proud and heartfelt moment for the Department of English to see its Head being recognised for her sincere efforts, inspiring leadership and continued commitment to academic excellence.

📚 Extension Lecture on “The Origin Theories of Punjabi Language”

The Department of English, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, organised an extension lecture on “The Origin Theories of Punjabi Language” in hybrid mode.

Dr. Sikander Singh, Dean, Faculty of Languages and Head, Department of Punjabi, delivered an insightful address on the history and development of Punjabi language, encouraging students to critically examine established narratives and explore its linguistic, historical and cultural contexts.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 60 students in person and 167 participants representing various educational institutions online.

The Department organised an enriching Alumni Interaction Event featuring Dr. Hina Goyal, Assistant Professor, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, and a proud alumna of the Department. She shared valuable insights on technical and research writing, publication ethics, and academic excellence while inspiring students through her own academic journey.

Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Head, Department of English, highlighted the importance of alumni engagement and expressed pride in Dr. Goyal's achievements. The event was coordinated by Dr. Baljeet Kaur, who welcomed the guest and outlined the objectives, while Mr. Vinay Kumar delivered the vote of thanks.

Today marked a proud milestone for our M.A. English Semester IV students as they successfully defended their Dissertation (Viva Voce). Congratulations to Simran Kaur, Maneer Kaur, Manisha, and Harjeet Kaur on their commendable presentations and hard work.

We were honoured to have Dr. Hina Goyal (PAU, Ludhiana) as the External Examiner. Heartfelt thanks to our supervisors Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, and Dr. Baljeet Kaur, and to Dr. Diksha for being part of the occasion.
