No, directing is not required at planning stage since it is an executive function. It initiates action in the organization while other functions of management (planning, organizing, staffing and controlling) just prepare a setting for action.

Ans. No, the communication process is not complete unless and until feedback is given to the superior. So, I must respond to communication to improve its effectiveness, e. g., by giving a reply to letter, giving reactions to the message, etc.
