The following talks were organized for the students of GEC on 11th March 2025
1. Lenovo Leap - skilling for India by Mr. Sai Praneeth, M/s. QuantumicsAI India technology Private Limited
The speaker enlightened the participants on the urgent need for self-skilling in today’s competitive industry. He mentioned the various opportunities available through the IBM Leap Program for students to achieve their desired skills. He also made them aware that most of these programs are made available to them free of charge and can be done online. He tried to motivate the students to make optimum use of time while being a student so that they can achieve their dreams

2. Building a globally competitive product from Goa by Mr. Malcolm Dsouza, Co-founder, Chief Technical Officer, M/s. Spintly India Private Limited
The speaker enthralled the audience with his rich experiences in setting up Spintly - the poster child of Goan Technology startups ecosystem. He described the journey of Spintly, how it started as a dream of two friends and then went on to make a globally competitive product in the access control domain. The trials of finding the right product offering merging the core competencies of the founding team with the existence of a niche market left the audience with a strong emotional attachment. The motivation provided by the speaker to understand how to overcome challenges when adversities come up in achieving product market fit will remain etched in all the attendees.

A two days Hackathon on Web 3 & AI was organized at Information Technology Department of Goa College of Enginering by C Sharp Corner company. The organizing team comprised of Mr. Stephen Simon, RD CSharp –India & Asia Pacific & Mr. Atul Gupta, VP – Events CSharp from CSharp Corner company.

The Hackathon was organized with an intent of providing IT solutions to some major challenges faced by the society at large. Problem statements were based on topics of Web 3, AI & Singularity Net. There were 50 teams and 185 participants in total. There were multiple rounds of selection to get the best 3 final teams. These 3 teams are to represent Goa at the National hackathon to be held in September 2025

Goa State Higher Education Council (GSHEC) & Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Goa organized "Converge 2.0 – Shiksha Udyojak Sangam" an Academia-Industry Summit on 4th - 13th March 2025 Powered by CSRBOX - Implementation Partner, IBM Skillsbuild

A seminar was organized on the topic “Skill-Up, Scale-Up, Succeed: Empowering the Workforce of Tomorrow”. It provided valuable insights to students about the recruitment process, covering key aspects such as aptitude tests, group discussions, and personal interview preparations. Talk also enlightened students about the different competitive exams after completing Engineering degree.

The Business Voices Summit, organized by BNI (Business Network International), was successfully hosted at Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi, Ponda on February 5, 2025. This event provided a platform for students, faculty, and business professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and establish valuable connections.

The event was graced by Mr. Harish Melwani, the Chief Executive Officer of Nathuram Marketing Pvt. Ltd., as the chief guest. A distinguished alumnus of Goa College of Engineering (B.E. Electrical Engineering, 1980), Mr. Melwani is a visionary entrepreneur known for his contributions to business and research. Mr. Melwani, in his seminar, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and collaboration between academia and industry. His journey serves as an inspiration for students aspiring to create impactful businesses.

This was followed by a Panel Discussion & Interactive Session. The session focused on key topics such as the role of networking in business growth, strategies for young entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses, and the impact of innovation on different industries. Panellists shared their experiences and insights, offering practical advice on overcoming challenges in entrepreneurship. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable knowledge on how to navigate the competitive business landscape.

A 5 day Placements Training workshop from was organized at GEC from 3rd to 7th Feb 2025 , by Training & Placement Cell (GEC) and Institute Innovation Council (IIC GEC) in collaboration with “LEADER” an Educational Training & Service Institute based in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Resource person invited for the workshop was Mr. Roshan Nisar (CEO & Founder, LEADER) and Ms. Nidhi Chauhan (Associate at LEADER).

The Workshop was organised for BE students of GEC with intention to prepare the students for campus placement drives happening at GEC.

The event, "Celestial Canvas " was organised on 3rd and 4th April 2024, and provided a platform for aspiring designers, developers, and enthusiasts to delve into the realm of UI/UX design. Through engaging discussions and competitions, the event aimed to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration in the field of UI/UX. By
bringing together industry experts, students, and professionals, the event sought to inspire, educate, and empower participants to create intuitive and user-centric digital experiences that positively impact society.

The event had active participation from a diverse group of individuals passionate about UI/UX design. A total of 18 registrations were recorded, with notable representation from outside the hosting state.

After careful deliberation, the esteemed panel of judges declared
“Team Soup” from Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Goa as winners and “Digital Picasso” from Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, as runners-up

The much-anticipated event, "Cosmic Innovators" took place on the 4th of April, 2024, as a part of Spectrum 2024 at Goa College of Engineering (GEC).

The event, a Shark Tank style competition, was organized to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students. With the participation of 12 highly competitive teams from across various colleges in Goa, the event showcased a range of innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit.

The event was judged by a distinguished panel of industry experts, who brought their vast experience and insights to evaluate the participants. Each team had to present their innovative ideas to the judges. The presentations included a detailed explanation of the problem statement, the solution proposed, market potential, and a demonstration of the product or prototype. The judges posed questions and provided feedback after each presentation. Rounak Naik from PCCE and Aqua Mate from AITD, led by Neil Souza were declared winners

(CEO, Bridge Bharat Council) and Veteran Wing Commander M Jeyakumar (Retd.) (Founder Director, Bridge Bharat Council).
