Bringing Math to Life: Experiential Learning in Class 3
Today, our Class 3 students stepped away from traditional notebooks to explore addition through a vibrant Lucky Dip Addition activity.
By integrating kinesthetic pedagogy, we aim to make abstract mathematical concepts tangible. Here is how our young learners engaged with the lesson:
•The Lucky Dip: Students eagerly picked random numbers, adding an element of surprise and play to the lesson.
•Tactile Translation: They translated those abstract numbers into physical quantities using colourful beads.
•Active "Adding On": By physically manipulating the materials, they developed a deeper, intuitive understanding of mathematical sets.
Seeing the classroom buzz with energy is a testament to the power of active learning. When students move, play, and explore, true understanding follows!

☀️🌿 Sunlight is Necessary for Photosynthesis 🌿☀️
Class IV students enthusiastically performed an activity to prove that sunlight is necessary for photosynthesis. A healthy potted plant was kept in darkness for 24 hours, and one leaf was partly covered with black paper before placing the plant in sunlight. After testing the leaf with iodine solution, the uncovered part turned blue-black while the covered part did not.
Through this experiment, students learned that plants can prepare food only in the presence of sunlight. The activity made learning science fun, practical, and meaningful for our young learners. 🌱🔬✨

An informative and interactive session on “Caring and Feeding Farm Animals” was conducted for Classes 6 to 8 under the Domain – Work with Life Forms of the Kaushal Bodh curriculum on 14 May 2024. The session was organized by the Science Department in the school activity room to create awareness among students about the importance of proper care, feeding, and management of farm animals.

मॉडर्न स्कूल में कक्षा 3 के विद्यार्थियों के लिए “स्वर और व्यंजन” नामक एक मज़ेदार और शिक्षाप्रद गतिविधि आयोजित की गई। शिक्षिका जी एक डिब्बा लेकर आईं, जिसमें कई पर्चियाँ रखी हुई थीं। हर पर्ची पर हिंदी का एक अक्षर लिखा था।

बच्चों ने बारी-बारी से पर्चियाँ निकालीं और बताया कि वह अक्षर स्वर है या व्यंजन। कुछ बच्चों को “अ”, “इ”, “ऊ” जैसे स्वर मिले और कुछ को “क”, “ट”, “भ” जैसे व्यंजन।

इस गतिविधि से बच्चों ने सीखा कि स्वर बिना रुकावट के बोले जाते हैं, जबकि व्यंजन स्वर की सहायता से बोले जाते हैं। सभी बच्चों ने हँसते-खेलते नई बातें सीखीं और पूरे उत्साह से भाग लिया।

Activity Name - Balanced Diet Platter
In this activity, class V students create a balanced diet platter using pictures or drawings of different foods. The platter is divided into sections like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Students select foods such as rice or chapati for energy, pulses or eggs for body-building, fruits and vegetables for protection, and a small amount of fats like butter or oil.
Through this activity, students learn the importance of eating a variety of foods in the right proportion to stay healthy and active. It also helps them to understand how a balanced diet supports growth, energy, and immunity.

Exploring Soluble & Insoluble Substances! ✨🔬
Our curious Class 3 scientists turned the classroom into a mini‑lab today. With glasses of water, spoons, and everyday items like sugar, salt, sand, and oil, they discovered the magic of solubility. 🌊

Students observed how sugar and salt disappeared completely in water, showing they are soluble substances. On the other hand, sand settled at the bottom and oil floated on top, proving they are insoluble substances. The excitement on their faces as they stirred, watched, and recorded their findings was priceless! 💡

This hands‑on activity not only made science fun but also helped children understand how different materials behave in water. It was a joyful blend of learning and discovery — turning simple experiments into big lessons about the world around us. 🌍✨

Before embarking on the summer break, the students of Ekta House organized a spirited special assembly to set the tone for the upcoming holidays. Through an expressive poem, they emphasized that vacations are a unique window for creativity, personal responsibility, and joyful discovery. Faculty members complemented this message by encouraging students to approach their holiday assignments with sincerity, while prioritizing quality time with family, a love for reading, and the maintenance of healthy lifestyle habits.

An interactive session on “Creating Advertisement” was conducted for Class 8 students under the Human Services Project of the Kaushal Board curriculum by the English Department in the Language Lab on 14 May 2024. The session was conducted by Ms. Poonam Grover and Ms. Nisha Sharma to enhance students’ creativity, communication, and presentation skills through advertisement-making activities.
