On the occasion of World Anti-Tobacco Day, 31st May 2026, the NSS Unit of GCW organized a Poster Making Competition and Awareness Campaign as part of “Serve BRICS 2026: Volunteering for a Better Tomorrow”. The event aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of to***co use among youth and the community. Through creative posters and a door-to-door outreach program, volunteers engaged the public, contributed volunteer hours, and encouraged a to***co-free lifestyle.
The Poster Making Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation. The winners were: 1st Prize - Krishna, BTTM 1st Year; 2nd Prize - Tejaswini, BCom 1st Year; 3rd Prize - Sneha Saini, BCA Final Year. NSS PO Dr. Rachna Saini encouraged the volunteers during the awareness campaign. Worthy Principal Ms. Archana Verma congratulated the volunteers and advised them to continue organizing such awareness campaigns in the future for the betterment of society.
The campaign reflects the NSS volunteers’ commitment to health, volunteerism, and meaningful contribution to the BRICS volunteering initiative.

The Placement Cell of the college, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Management, organized a two-day special session on 24th and 25th February 2026 to create awareness about the personal finance framework. The programme was led by the keynote speaker Ms. Jyoti Kapoor, who shared valuable insights on investing in the securities market, understanding risks, and evaluating investment opportunities. She also explained alternative investment options and career opportunities in the financial services sector, including self-employment. Approx 100 students attended the seminar.The students found the session very informative and interactive. The programme was conducted successfully with the guidance and support of the Principal Sir, to whom sincere thanks were expressed. Placement Cell members Coordinated the programme efficiently.

K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women organized Inter College Science competitions on the occasion of National Science Day. A total of five teams from GCW Faridabad participated enthusiastically in different events such as the Science Quiz, Caption Writing Competition, and Think Tank Challenge.
The students showcased remarkable creativity and scientific thinking and brought laurels to the college. Anisha roll no. 23 and Sadhna Rathore roll no. 12 of BSc 2nd year secured 3rd position in the Think Tank Challenge.
In the Caption Writing Competition, Kajal roll no. 1 and Nancy roll no. 48 of BSc 2nd year achieved 2nd position, demonstrating excellent creativity and understanding of the theme. Additionally, Anjali roll no. 26 and Divya roll no.14 of BSc 1st yr received a consolation prize in the Caption Writing Competition for their thoughtful caption. Principal sir appreciated the students on their wonderful performance.

Eight days workshop on Yoga and meditation was successfully organized by women cell under the guidance of our worthy principal Mr. Ghanshyam Das from 9th Feb. to 18th Feb. 2026. The main objective of the workshop was to create awareness about the benefits of Yoga and meditation, to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, self-discipline, emotional balance among students and to provide practical guidance on incorporating these practices into daily life. Each day of the workshop focused on different aspects of Yoga and meditation as on first day of workshop basic warm up exercises and stretching technique were taught to students. On second day of workshop Basic yoga postures as Tadasana, Vrikshasana and Bhujangasana were taught and some breathing techniques were introduced. On third and forth day of workshop students were taught pranayamas like anulom vilom and kapalbhati etc. to reduce stress and enhance lung capacity and some yoga postures were also taught. On 5th, 6th and 7th day some advanced yoga postures like Chakrasan, Dhanurasan etc. were practiced. On 8th day of workshop participants demonstrated the learned yoga postures.The workshop received an enthusiastic response from girl students. Total 125 students actively participated in this worshop. The workshop inspired students to adopt healthier lifestyle.
Many participants reported feeling refreshed, more focused, and physically active after attending the sessions. Many students expressed their willingness to continue practicing yoga daily.The exemplary support and active participation of Ms. Sangeeta Kanjani, Ms. Nisha Bhardwaj, Ms Neelam Sharma and Dr. Sonia greatly contributed to the success of the workshop.

Our college successfully organized a one-day special session on Financial Literacy (Budgeting, Money Management and Digital Financial Awareness) on 18th February 2026 with the objective of enhancing students’ financial awareness and practical money management skills. The session featured an insightful keynote address by Jyoti Kapoor, a distinguished SEBI Trainer, who shared her valuable expertise on the importance of financial planning, effective budgeting techniques, responsible spending habits, and the fundamentals of savings and investments. She also emphasized digital financial awareness, guiding students on safe online transactions, digital payment systems, and protection against financial frauds in today’s technology-driven world. The session was highly interactive, allowing students to engage in meaningful discussions and clarify their queries related to personal finance and digital security.
On this occasion, our respected Principal Sir Mr. Ghanshyam Das addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing importance of financial literacy in today’s rapidly changing economic landscape. He encouraged students to cultivate disciplined financial habits from an early stage and to apply the knowledge gained from the session in their personal and professional lives. The program concluded with a note of appreciation and gratitude to Jyoti Kapoor for her enlightening session. Sincere thanks were also extended to all the Placement Cell members for their dedicated efforts and excellent coordination in successfully organizing this informative and impactful event.

Women cell of our college organized Ten days Self defense training workshop for college students from 3rd February 2026 to 16th February 2026 under the guidance of our worthy Principal Mr. Ghanshyam Das. Total 136 students participated in this workshop and got benefitted. The training was conducted to Equip Girls with basic self defense skills to enhance their confidence, awareness and ability to protect themselves in challenging situations. Each day of workshop focused on different aspects of self defense like basic warm up exercises, strategies to avoid dangerous situations and stay alert, learning simple yet effective moves like blocking, escaping grabs and counterattacks, defending against common attacks such as wrist grabs, chokes etc. This workshop was highly successful initiative of women cell as it empowered girls with essential self defense skills and boosted their confidence. The exemplary support and active participation of Ms. Sangeeta Kanjani, Ms. Nisha Bhardwaj, Ms Neelam Sharma and Dr. Sonia greatly contributed to the success of the workshop.

The Placement Cell, of Govt College for women in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, Commerce, and Management, successfully organized a two-day workshop on “Importance of Artificial Intelligence (Faster & Better Decision Making & Improved Customer Service) and Employment Opportunities with AI (Emerging Career Areas, Freelancing, and Entrepreneurship)” on 16th and 17th February 2026.
The workshop aimed to create awareness among students about the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence across various industries. Sessions highlighted how AI enables faster and more accurate decision-making, enhances operational efficiency, and improves customer service experiences through automation and intelligent systems.
The program also focused on career prospects in AI, shedding light on emerging job roles, industry demands, and the vast scope for freelancing and entrepreneurial ventures.
The interactive sessions, practical insights, and real-world examples made the workshop highly informative and engaging. Approx 200 students attended the workshop.
Principal sir Mr. Ghanshyam das added that the initiative like this will help students with future-ready skills and enhancing their employability in the era of digital transformation.

The Placement Cell of Government College for Women, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and BBA, successfully organized an insightful seminar on “Train Your Mind for Ultimate Success – Emotional Intelligence” on 13th February 2026.
The session aimed at empowering students with the knowledge and practical understanding of emotional intelligence and its vital role in achieving personal and professional success. The keynote speaker for the event was Geeta Ranga, an esteemed motivational speaker and expert in personal development.
During the session, Ms. Geeta Ranga emphasized the importance of self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills as the core pillars of emotional intelligence. She highlighted how managing emotions effectively can enhance decision-making, leadership qualities, interpersonal relationships, and career growth.
The speaker engaged students with real-life examples, interactive discussions, and practical strategies to train the mind for resilience, focus, and positivity. She encouraged students to develop a growth mindset, overcome self-doubt, and cultivate emotional balance to achieve ultimate success.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from approx 130 students .The interactive nature of the session made it highly impactful and inspiring. Students gained valuable insights into handling stress, improving communication skills, and building confidence for future professional challenges.

Government College for Women (GCW), Faridabad actively participated in a Job Fair organized by AIM World of Edutech on 11th February 2026 at Nehru College conducted by DGHE. The event aimed to provide students with valuable employment opportunities and direct interaction with reputed companies from various sectors.
A total of 215 students from GCW Faridabad enthusiastically participated in the job fair. The event served as an excellent platform for students to showcase their skills, knowledge, and professional potential.
Several well-known companies took part in the recruitment drive, including Pukhraj Healthcare, Royal Engielt, Sai Cell Net, and many other reputed firms. After a thorough selection process comprising interviews and screenings, 24 students received offer letters from different organizations.
Principal Mr. Ghanshyam Das extended its gratitude to DGHE, Nehru college , AIM World of Edutech and the participating companies for organizing this impactful event and providing valuable career opportunities to the students.
