Coming from a family of teachers, becoming a teacher seemed to be a natural path for Diksha Kharbanda.

A nurturing home-like environment that empowers children aged 2 - 8 to learn through play and exploration, cultivating their natural curiosity, creativity, and love for learning. After pursuing her MA in Education from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, she worked as a researcher, and preschool teacher, designed play-based and inquiry-based learning experiences, and conducted teacher trainings

Children today have less time, less freedom, and fewer opportunities to play than the generations before them.

Play is often the first thing to disappear when schedules get crowded, outcomes become urgent, and childhood starts looking more like preparation than living.

This International Day of Play, we're standing up for the cardboard boxes, the block structures, the made-up games, the endless questions, the muddy hands, and the ideas children invent for themselves.

Because protecting play is not about protecting a pastime.
It is about protecting curiosity.
Protecting wonder.
Protecting childhood itself.

This week at Summer Camp, children came face to face with a real bird’s nest. Tiny twigs, carefully woven together, sparked so many questions, theories, and ideas. 🌿

As we explored bugs and the homes they build, children began noticing the world around them differently. They went back home excitedly spotting ants, webs, nests, and little creatures in their everyday spaces too.

From observing real nests to building their own, imagination unfolded everywhere. Curious builders got to work, stories came alive, and children began thinking deeply about how living things create, protect, and belong.

This is the kind of learning we love- meaningful, hands-on, connected to the real world, and filled with wonder. ✨

Join us at Summer Camp for many more thoughtfully designed experiences for young children.

At our Summer Camp, we’re not just filling the day with activities.
We’re creating intentional spaces where children learn how to collaborate, communicate, problem-solve and care for one another.

A child helping another during a challenge.
Sharing materials without being asked.
Waiting, listening, adjusting, figuring things out together.

Because socio-emotional skills don’t grow through instructions.
They grow through real moments like these. 💛

If this is the kind of childhood you want for your little one, we’d love to welcome you in.

What looked like “just play” was actually a little mind hard at work. ✨

A child was building a box for his animals using magnetic tiles. But the lion’s head was too big, and the top just wouldn’t close.

So he kept trying. Adjusted pieces. Asked for help. Paused. Thought. Tried again.

Instead of solving it for him, we stayed close and encouraged him to keep going.

A little later, he removed the lion, rebuilt the top, and solved it himself.

In that one moment, there was problem-solving, persistence, flexible thinking, spatial understanding, communication, and emotional regulation at work.

Because children don’t stop learning when they play. In early childhood, play is often where learning happens best. 🤍

Come visit us and see learning unfold, one little moment at a time.

✨ She wasn’t 'just' stacking blocks!

Comparing, measuring, problem-solving… maths was unfolding through play! 🧠

She wasn’t just holding blocks, she was asking herself: Which one is bigger? Which one is smaller? How many more blocks do I need to make them the same size?

And just like that, Counting, problem-solving, comparing quantities and making sense of size — all through hands-on exploration, came alive.

Because before children solve maths on worksheets, they first experience it through play. ❤️

Come see what meaningful learning looks like at Learning Habitat.
