AerotriX is organizing The AerotriX All India Ornithopter Challenge - A National Level Aeromodelling Competition in association with
1. Ornithopter Zone, USA
2. National Students' Space Challenge, IIT Kharagpur and
3. technNITi'13, NIT Jalandhar

The AerotriX All India Ornithopter Challenge is a training-cum-competition series that helps your students learn technical skills and compete with students from across the country. Ornithopter is a mechanical object inspired by a bird and tries to fly by imitating a bird. The objective of the challenge is to help students develop an understanding towards innovative next generation technologies that are inspired by nature.

Winners of the challenge will get an opportunity to take part in an Internship at AerotriX and Ornithopter Zone, USA.
Ornithopter Zone is an organization formed by alumni of Bucknell University, USA undertaking research and development activities in Ornithopters. After a long time spent studying behavior of birds, Ornithopter Zone developed models of Ornithopters which can be used for defence, surveillance and education purposes.

Structure of the event:
1) Regional Level Workshop: AerotriX Ornithopter Workshops in association with Ornithopter Zone, USA , NSSC IIT Kharagpur and techNITi NIT Jalandhar would be organized in your campus.
2) Regional Level Competitions: After the workshop, students would be given 15 days time to build their Ornithopters and submit videos of their final products. Top performers from your college would be picked up for regional level finals to be organized at regional Centers.
3) Finals: Top students from each college would participate in a Grand Final at one of the following centers:
North India Final Center: NIT Jalandhar
Central, East and North East India Final Center: IIT Kharagpur
South and Western India Final Center: AerotriX Center, Bangalore
4) Internship: Winners of the Finals would be selected for an internship at AerotriX, Bangalore and would work on a research project on Ornithopters being conducted by AerotriX and Ornithopter Zone, USA. These students would get internship certificates from AerotriX and Ornithopter Zone, USA.
