In a significant boost to skill-based education, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has decided to simplify the admission process under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for skill-based courses under the Community College of Skill Development (CCSD). Also, the College will launch B.Voc programme in Yoga, expected from next Academic Session.

These decisions were taken during a detailed review meeting of the university’s Community College of Skill Development (CCSD) chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar. The Vice-Chancellor visited CCSD and held an extensive interaction with team, Prof. Sanjeev Goyal, Principal, Dr. Sapna Taneja, Vice Principal, and the faculty members.

The Vice-Chancellor asked to simplify the admission process under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) by eliminating excessive paperwork and pre-certificate requirements. He further advised that the RPL programme brochure be widely disseminated across a larger number of industries to attract more students and deepen industry participation.

During the visit, Prof. Kumar appreciated the progress made by CCSD and issued several key directions to further strengthen skill-based education, employability and outreach. Applauding the overwhelming response to the existing Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga, Prof. Rajive Kumar described the introduction of B.Voc in Yoga as the need of the hour to meet growing skill and career demands in the wellness sector. He stressed the need to encourage all CCSD graduates to connect on LinkedIn to build a strong alumni network and enhance the University’s professional visibility.

To incentivize completion of short-term courses, Prof. Kumar suggested the introduction of a fee-refund policy under which students successfully completing their respective courses would receive a refund of fees.

Vice-Chancellor also proposed that faculty members wishing to pursue course upgradation or professional development programmes be granted necessary approvals without delay.
