"10th Maths - Trigonometry" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: If 2 sin A = 1 then the value of tan A + cot A is:
(A) √3 (B) 4/√3 (C) √3/2 (D) 1
Answer:
∵ 2 sin A = 1
∴ sin A = 1/2
∴ cos A = √(1-sin^2 A) = √(1- (1/2)^2) = √(3/4) = √3/2
∴ tan A = sin A/cos A = 1/√3
∴ cot A = √3
∴ tan A + cot A = 1/√3 + √3 = 4/√3
∴ Option B is correct.

"10th Maths - Circles" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: Area of a segment of a circle of radius 'r' and central angle 60° is:
(A) π r^2/2 - 1/2 r^2 (B) 2 π r/4 - √3/4 r^2
(C) π r^2/6 - √3/4 r^2 (D) 2 π r/4 - r^2 sin 60
Answer:
∵ Segment Area = π r^2 x (60/360) - (1/2) . r . (√3/2 r)
∴ Area = π r^2 x (1/6) - √3/4 r^2
∴ Option C is correct.

"10th Maths - Trigonometry" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: If cos A = 4/5, then the value of tan A is:
(A) 3/5 (B) 3/4 (C) 4/3 (D) 5/3
Answer:
∵ cos A = 4/5
∴ sin A = √(1-cos^2 A) = √(1-16/25) = √9/25 = 3/5
∴ tan A = sin A/ cos A = (3/5) / (4/5) = 3/4
∴ Option B is correct.

"10th Maths - Surface Area & Volumes" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: A hemispherical bowl is made of steel of thickness 1 cm. The outer radius of the bowl is 6 cm. The volume of steel used (in cm) is:
(A) 182 π (B) 182/3 π
(C) 682/3 π (D) 364/3 π
Answer:
∵ Outer radius, R1 = 6 cm and Thickness is 1 cm
∴ Inner radius, R2 = 6 - 1 = 5 cm
∴ Volume of bowl = 2/3 π R1^3 - 2/3 π R2^3 = 2/3 π (6^3 - 5^3) = 2/3 (91) π
∴ Option B is correct.

"10th Maths - Coordinate Geometry" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: If the distance between the points (4, P) and (1, 0) is 5, then P is equal to:
(A) +-4 (B) 4 (C) - 4 (D) 0
Answer:
∵ Distance between points: √{(1-4)^2 + (0-p)^2} = 5
∴ (9 + p^2) = 25
∴ p^2 = 25 - 9 = 16
∴ p = +- 4
∴ Option A is correct.

"10th Maths - Statistics" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: The mean and median of a frequency distribution are 43 and 43.4 respectively. The mode of the distribution is:
(A) 43.4 (B) 42.4 (C) 44.2 (D) 49.3
Answer:
∵ By empirical formula, 3 Median = Mode + 2 Mean
∴ Mode = 3 Median - 2 Mean = 3 x 43.4 - 2 x 43
∴ Mode = 130.2-86 = 44.2
∴ Answer: Option C

"10th Maths - polynomial" - CBSE 2026 Exam paper MCQ
Question: If α and β are two zeroes of a polynomial f(x) = p x 2 - 2 x + 3p and α + β = α β, then value of p is:
(A) - â…” (B) â…” (C) â…“ (D) - â…“
Answer: Here, a = p, b = - 2, c = 3 p
Sum of zeroes, α + β = -b/a = 2/p
Product of zeroes, α . β = 3p/p = 3
∵ α + β = α β (given)
∴ 2/p = 3
∴ p = 2/3
∴ Option B is correct.

Question: The graph of y = f(x) is given. The number of distinct zeroes of y = f(x) is:
(A) 0 (B) 1 (C) 2 (D) 3
Answer:
∵ Zeroes are the x-values where the y-value is zero.
∴ Here the graph intersects 2 times, hence No. of zeroes = 2
∴ Option C is correct.
