Topic of Day 05: Emotional Detox
Date: 29th May, 2026
The fifth day of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was successfully conducted on 29th May, 2026 under the overall theme *“Health and General Well-Being.”* The topic for Day 05 was *“Emotional Detox.”* The session aimed to spread awareness regarding emotional health, stress management and the importance of positive thinking for overall well-being.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Meenu Dua and Convener Dr. Sangeeta Kulshrestha. The resource person for the session was Dr. Shveta Arya, who delivered an insightful and interactive lecture on emotional wellness and self-care practices.
During the session, the speaker explained how the nervous system and neurons influence human emotions and behavior. She discussed the connection between emotions and energy and highlighted the importance of gratitude in maintaining mental peace and positivity. The practical demonstration of belly breathing techniques helped participants understand effective ways to relax the mind and body.
Dr. Shveta Arya also emphasized the role of self-talk, self-love and thought management in maintaining emotional balance. She explained how negative emotions such as fear can affect personality development and mental health. The session further highlighted how life situations and thinking patterns are interconnected and influence an individual’s emotional well-being.
The lecture was highly informative, engaging and beneficial for all participants. Faculty members actively participated in the session and appreciated the practical approaches shared for emotional detox and stress management.
The complete session was well coordinated by Dr. Neha Jain, Ms. Benu Mehta, Ms. Neeru Siwas and Ms. Priyanka Pawar. Around 55 faculty members attended the session successfully.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the resource person, Principal Ma’am, Convener Ma’am, coordinators and all faculty members for their valuable presence and active participation.

3rd Day of FDP on “Health and General Well-Being”
The 3rd Day of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme *“Health and General Well-Being”* was successfully organized by K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women under the guidance of Principal Dr. Meenu Dua and Convener Dr. Sangeeta Kulshrestha in hybrid mode. The session focused on promoting awareness regarding personal health, skin care, sustainable lifestyle practices and the importance of Indian textiles in modern fashion. The programme also highlighted how the choice of fabric plays an important role in maintaining overall well-being, especially during changing weather conditions. Comfortable and breathable natural fabrics such as cotton and linen not only provide ease and comfort during summer but also contribute positively towards skin health and a healthy lifestyle. Around 48 faculty members actively participated in the programme, making the session highly interactive and informative.
The first Resource Person, Ms. Vineeta Verma, delivered an insightful lecture on “Healthy Skin: Home Made Remedies.” She discussed the importance of natural and homemade skin-care practices and shared various remedies using easily available household ingredients such as oils, besan, rice flour, cornflour and alum. She explained how these natural ingredients help in preventing wrinkles, pigmentation, acne and other common skin-related problems. The session became more interactive when she showcased a homemade skin cream prepared by herself and explained its benefits and preparation method. Her practical suggestions were highly appreciated by all the participants.
The second Resource Person, Ms. Benu Mehta, presented an informative PowerPoint presentation on “Sustainability in Fashion.”She highlighted the importance of natural fibres such as cotton and linen, especially during the summer season and explained how sustainable fashion contributes towards a healthier lifestyle and environment. She also discussed various traditional Indian textiles and sarees from different states, including:
* Chanderi – Madhya Pradesh
* Ikat – Odisha/Andhra Pradesh
* Banarasi – Uttar Pradesh
* Patola – Gujarat
* Paithani – Maharashtra
* Sambalpuri – Odisha
* Bandhani – Gujarat and Rajasthan
* Brocades – Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat and many more.
She further elaborated on the modern textile industry, changing fashion trends and the fashion cycle. The session concluded with an interactive query session where participants actively discussed various aspects of sustainable fashion and Indian textiles.
The entire FDP session was coordinated efficiently by Ms. Benu Mehta, Ms. Neeru Siwas and Ms. Priyanka Pawar. Mr. Laxman also provided excellent technical support, which helped in making this hybrid mode FDP a successful and smooth event.

The K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women under the banner of Vimal Gyan Sarovvar (Akshraalay Club) successfully organized a DELNET Webinar on 12 May 2026. The webinar was conducted with the objective of enhancing awareness about digital library resources, e-resources, and library networking services among students and staff members.
The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Meenu Dua. The webinar was convened by Ms. Abhilasha Tyagi and Ms. Sonam, while Dr. Nupur Srivastava, Ms. Samina and Ms. Madhuri Shukla served as the Co-Conveners.
The resource person for the webinar was Mrs. Ranjana, who conducted an informative and interactive session on DELNET services and their effective use in academic and research activities. She explained various features of DELNET, including access to e-books, e-journals, union catalogues, inter-library loan services, and digital resources available for students, teachers, and researchers.
During the session, participants gained valuable knowledge about the importance of library networking and the role of DELNET in supporting education and research. The webinar also helped attendees understand how to efficiently search and access scholarly information through DELNET platforms.
The programme received active participation and appreciation from faculty members and students. The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person, organizers, and all participants for making the webinar successful and informative.

The Department of Commerce and Management of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad proudly shares the achievement of faculty members in the Two-Day National Seminar on “GST 2.0: A Roadmap for Social Inclusion, Sustainable Growth and Economic Resilience” organized by Aggarwal College Ballabgarh and sponsored by ICSSR on 01–02 May 2026.
Dr. Rekha Goel and Ms. Suman Lata Yadav were awarded the “Best Paper in Track II (Start-ups, Entrepreneurship, Rural and Urban Livelihood and Employment @ GST 2.0)” for their research papers on "Entrepreneurial Resilience in Urban and Rural areas of the State of Haryana in the era of GST 2.0".
Their achievement brought pride and recognition to the institution.
The college administration appreciated the hard work, dedication, and academic excellence of the faculty members. The participation and success in the seminar reflected the institution’s commitment towards research, innovation, and academic development.
The Department expressed heartfelt gratitude to Principal Ma’am, Dr. Meenu Dua, for continuously motivating and encouraging faculty members to participate in national seminars, conferences, and research activities. Her constant guidance, support, and inspiring leadership encourage teachers to enhance their academic and research capabilities and bring laurels to the college. *One Day Workshop on PM Internship Scheme (PMIS)* was successfully organized on 08/05/2026 at Government ITI Women, Sector-18, Faridabad with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding internship opportunities, skill enhancement, employability, and career development initiatives launched by the Government of India.
The session was graced by eminent dignitaries and resource persons including Mr. Vijay Singh, PMIS Field Officer and Dr. Neha Singh (Rojgaar Officer, Faridabad).
The dignitaries shared valuable insights regarding the objectives, implementation, and benefits of the PM Internship Scheme and motivated students to actively participate in skill-based learning opportunities.
During the session, students were informed that the PM Internship Scheme has been introduced to bridge the gap between academic education and industry requirements by providing practical exposure and workplace experience.
Detailed guidance was provided regarding eligibility criteria, online registration procedures, internship opportunities, and the advantages of participating in the scheme.
The speakers highlighted several important aspects of the scheme, including:
* Practical industry exposure for students.
* Skill development and enhancement of employability.
* Improvement in communication skills and professional ethics.
* Better career readiness through real-time work experience.
* Awareness regarding government-supported employment initiatives.
* Guidance related to registration and participation procedures.
The resource persons encouraged students to make effective use of such government initiatives for their professional and personal growth.
Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal and Dr. Rekha Goel, Internship Nodal Officer appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and expressed hope that the workshop would prove fruitful and beneficial for their future career growth.
The program witnessed the participation of the students of BBA final year along with *faculty coordinators Ms. Renu Pandey and Ms. Kritika Vaid.*
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Sushil Kumar, who appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and encouraged students to remain proactive in utilizing opportunities provided through various government schemes.

Students of K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, made the institution proud with their excellent performance at the Haryana State Level Yogasana Championship organized by the World Fitness Federation of Yogasana Sports India on 3rd May 2026 at Community Centre, Sector 37, Faridabad.
*Soni* secured 1st Position and won the prestigious “Champions of Champions” Title along with the Champions Cup Trophy. Other achievers included Gungun Kumari,Ananya,Rish*ta,Pooja Verma and Kajal Won silver medal Mahi and Priyanka also participated enthusiastically.
The team was guided by Ms. Sangeeta Adlakha, Ms Kiran Khatana, and Yoga Coach Ms. Aarti Shau.

A meeting was held between Parshad Shri Hari Kishan Grotti (Ward No. 13, MCF Faridabad) and Dr. Vandana Arora, Coordinator of the University Outreach Programme, K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, regarding the outreach activities in Rahul Colony. The meeting took place on 06-05-2026 at the Office of the Councillor, N.I.T. Faridabad.
The meeting focused on planning awareness programmes in the adopted area, including cleanliness drives, health awareness, women empowerment, and educational initiatives for the residents.
Dr. Vandana Arora presented the objectives and proposed activities of the outreach programme. Shri Hari Kishan Grotti appreciated the sincere efforts of the college in adopting Rahul Colony and expressed his gratitude towards the Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, for her continuous support and encouragement in such social initiatives. He also acknowledged and appreciated Dr. Anand Mehta for selecting Rahul Colony as the focus area for conducting awareness programmes.
The Parshad assured full cooperation from the Municipal Corporation and local community in organizing and implementing these activities successfully. It was mutually agreed to conduct regular programmes with active involvement of students and residents to bring positive change in the locality.

The Department of Science and Home Science of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad organised its farewell party on 4th May 2026 in the college auditorium. The program began with the heartening lamp lighting ceremony done by the Chief Guest, Ms. Shubh Mehta, Director-Self Finance, the Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, the Overall Incharges, Dr. Sangeeta Kulshrestha (HOD, Home Science) and Dr. Beena Sethi (HOD, Science) along with Ms. Archna Dua and Dr. Shveta Arya and Ms. Renu Pandey. This was followed by presenting a sapling to the Chief Guest and the Principal as a token of welcome and gratitude. The event witnessed a number of sizzling and captivating dance performances by students of various science programs. Dr. Nupur Srivastava from the Department of Mathematics shared her thoughts through a beautiful poem and blessed all the outgoing students. The university semester end examination merit holders for the session 2024-25 were also felicitated with medals and certificates by the dignitaries. The stage was conducted well by Ms. Muskan Gandhi and Ms. Geetanjali from the Department of Home Science and Science respectively while the photography was done nicely by Ms. Priya Soni, all of second year. The program ended with an open DJ session for all the students followed by a sumptuous lunch in the college canteen.
