Question & Answer

Question :- somebody said he did not understand why he was made to sit on the floor to eat when he first arrived at Gurudwara sahib?

Answer :- Order of Guruamardass ji is “ PEHELE PANGAT PAACHE SANGAT”.

Above written order of Guru AMAR Dass ji is that “ first sit together on floor to have a food or meal called LANGAR without discrimination of big & small, rich or poor, white skin or black skin , female or male then come inside to meet with guru sahib ji.”

This order of guru amardaas ji is followed in every Gurudwara sahib all over the world as per the sangat convenience.

ਤਰਸਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ
ਜੋ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਨਾਜ਼ੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ
ਅੱਗੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ;
ਆਪਣੀ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਵਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ;
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਬਗਾਵਤ ਕਰੇਗੀ,
ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਤੇ ਤਖਤੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਕੱਟ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਪਈ ਹੋਵੇ

The condition of that nation is pathetic
Which raises its voice only while going with the funeral
Forward not backward;
She never talks too much except to her own ruin;
Only then will rebellion
When its neck is lying between the sword and the plank to be cut.

GURBANI OF GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI MAHARAJ (IN ENGLISH)
" ONE PERSON BRINGS A FULL BOTTLE, AND ANOTHER FILLS HIS CUP.”

DRINKING THE WINE, HIS INTELLIGENCE DEPARTS, AND MADNESS ENTERS HIS MIND;

HE CANNOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN HIS OWN AND OTHERS, AND HE IS STRUCK DOWN BY HIS LORD AND MASTER.

DRINKING IT, HE FORGETS HIS LORD AND MASTER, AND HE IS PUNISHED IN THE COURT OF THE LORD.

DO NOT DRINK THE FALSE WINE AT ALL, IF IT IS IN YOUR POWER.

O Nanak, the True Guru comes and meets the mortal, by his Grace, one obtains the True wine.

He shall dwell forever in the love of the Lord Master, and obtain a seat in the Mansion of His Presence!!1!!

If anybody belongs to Sikh family or want to be a Sikh in his/her life or want to be treated as a Sikh in his/her life then first and foremost step is to keep your hairs Unshorn from top to bottom. BECAUSE whom so ever it may concern if anybody cut even a single hair from their body then it means they signed a bedawa .

Bedawa refers to that I am not a Sikh of guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj or Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj and you are not my Guru.

So all of you come back to sikhi & follow the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj.

" SABAT SOORAT DASTAAR SIRA" (UNSHORN HAIRS WITH TIED TURBAN OR DUMALLA).

In Sikh religion the cutting, Trimming, embroiding (eyebrows, threading, wax or upperlippes), colouring or dying of hairs is not allowed.

" SABAT SOORAT DASTAAR SIRA"

SABAT SOORAT means need not to cut a single hair from your body including no colouring, no dying, no trimming just have to keep same as it is how God blessed a body To us. Only we can paste or fold a beard if required.

DASTAAR SIRA means we have to tie a turban or dumalla for carrying unshorn hairs on our head. (Apart from turban & dumalla no other things can be used to cover our head like cap or hat and need not to leave open head without turban or dumalla as well).
