THE INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM :
The Indian National Anthem, "Jana Gana Mana," was composed by Rabindranath Tagore in 1911.
It was first sung during the Indian National Congress session in Calcutta on December 27, 1911.
The Anthem was officially adopted by the Constituent Assembly as the National Anthem of India on January 24, 1950.
It is written in Bengali language and is based on the raga (musical mode) called "Bhairavi."
The Anthem celebrates India's unity in diversity, and pays homage to the country's rich cultural heritage.
The Anthem is sung at the beginning of all government and public functions, as well as at the start of sporting events and cultural festivals.
The Anthem is written in Bengali language and has been translated into many Indian languages.
The Anthem has a duration of 52 seconds and consists of five stanzas.
