Helapuri Institute of Technology and Science, established in 2009-10, is affiliated with JNTU-K and situated in a serene environment, ideal for scholarly pursuits, surrounded by verdant fields, away from the din of urban life. Located on the Eluru-Jangareddygudem highway, it is easily accessible via a well-connected road transport system, and is approximately 5km from Eluru. The college commenced

with an initial intake of 240 students, with 60 students in each of the four branches of B.Tech: ECE, EEE, Civil, and CSE. Subsequently, in 2011-12, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering was added to the curriculum. From the academic year 2012-13, the AICTE granted approval for two M.Tech programs in ECE and EEE departments, and in the academic year 2014-15, two additional specializations in M.Tech, namely in Civil and Mechanical Engineering, were introduced.
