Dental Screening cm treatment Camp at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Nadakkavu, Malappuram.
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Malabar Dental College & Research Centre, in collaboration with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nadakkavu , Malappuram, successfully organized a dental screening cm treatment camp on 19.08.2026 and 20.08.2026 as the first step towards providing comprehensive oral healthcare to the school children.
The camp was coordinated by Dr. Shruti Purushothaman and Dr. Arathi Menon, Senior Lecturerers, Department of Public Health Dentistry, and Dr. Arya Girish, Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry, under the guidance of Dr. Abdul Saheer P, Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry. The team was supported by one postgraduate from the Department of Pedodontics and preventive dentistry along with eight interns and eight final year part-1 undergraduates.
The programme involved comprehensive dental examinations and provided preventive treatments along with appropriate referrals to the institution for further treatment. Special emphasis was made on oral health promotion and advocation of proper brushing technique in children.
A total of 449 children underwent oral health screening during the camp. Preventive treatments were done for 25 students.

The programme was a great success in assessing the oral health status of the students of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan and marked an important step towards ensuring comprehensive dental care through timely referral and follow-up treatment.
