‎Pharma Anveshan 2026 at Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Sciences

‎On 20th March 2026, the Pharmacy Council of India, in collaboration with Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Sciences, organized Pharma Anveshan 2026 at the M. L. Shroff Auditorium to mark the birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) M. L. Shroff, revered as the Father of Pharmacy Education in India. The day is also observed nationwide as Pharmacy Education Day of India.

‎The theme of this year’s programme was:
‎“Future Pharma Ecosystem: Fostering Synergy among Academia, Industry, Research, Regulatory and Practice.”
‎
‎The event was inaugurated by Dr. Samir Kumar Samanta, Principal of the college.
‎Chief Guest: Mr. Dharmendra Singh, Member, Executive Committee, PCI
‎Keynote Speaker: Prof. R. S. Thakur, Chairman, Board of Governors, BCRCP
‎Distinguished presence included Dr. Satyajit Bose, President, Indian Association of Cardiovascular; Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society); Mrs. Mita Mitra, Vice President, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society); Mr. Sudhir Kumar Choudhury, Member, PCI; Dr. Sumanta Kumar Ghosh, Drugs Inspector, CDSCO, New Delhi; and Mrs. Aditi Mukherjee, COO, Aurio Pharma, Kolkata.

‎Highlights of the deliberations:
‎Speakers emphasized the importance of collaboration among industry, academia, regulatory authorities, and practitioners to strengthen the pharmacy ecosystem.
‎Dr. Satyajit Bose spoke on the future of pharmacy in the age of artificial intelligence and data-driven innovation.
‎Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya highlighted the vital role of pharmacists alongside doctors in drug discovery and disease reduction.
‎Mr. Dharmendra Singh stressed the integration of pharmacy with AI for advancing human health.
‎ Prof. R. S. Thakur paid tribute to Prof. M. L. Shroff’s pioneering contributions to pharmacy education and honored Acharya Prafulla Roy, founder of India’s first pharmaceutical industry in colonial Kolkata.

‎The programme witnessed vibrant participation, with 180 students and faculty from BCRCP and 73 delegates comprising students, principals, faculty members, industry experts, researchers, and practitioners from across India.
Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Sagar Sengupta, Registrar, BCRCP.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Rituparna Chaki Ghosh.
