ADDENDUM TO PREVIOUS NOTICE

Class 8 will have classes normally on Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m. only.

Batch One of class 9 will have classes only on Wednesdays, 3.30 to 5.30 p.m., from April to November 2025, and on Wednesdays and Fridays, both days 6 to 8 p.m., from December 2025 onwards. Batch Two will have classes only on Thursdays, 3.30 to 5.30 p.m., from April to November 2025, and on Thursdays and Saturdays, both days 6 to 8 p.m., from December onwards.

Once selected, no change of batches is allowed.

Admissions will be held on 22nd and 23rd March (Saturday and Sunday). Exact times will be announced here on March 07.

Only students from ICSE schools, please.

PRE-ADMISSION NOTICE

The class 8 2025 class (one batch only) will be held on Sunday evenings. Occasionally, it might be brought forward to Sunday morning.

There will be two batches only for class 9: one on Wednesdays and Fridays, the other on Thursdays and Saturdays (times will be announced later). Whichever batch your ward enters, NO CHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED THEREAFTER. Please ensure that there are no other classes on those two days: I shall NOT take responsibility for your inconvenience if you put your child into two or three different tuitions on the same day and later cannot cope with the different class timings. From April to November, there will be one (afternoon) class per week; from December to the next November (2026), there will be two (evening) classes a week.

Preference will be given to those who have already attended class 8 here, and those who come from families where elders have attended my classes in previous years.

Only those who know my reputation well and are genuinely interested in educating their child here should come for admission. Please talk to senior ex students about me (my oldest student in Durgapur is 52), NOT parents of your own children's classmates, if you really want to find out about me.

Lazy, inattentive, disobedient and irregular pupils will be told to leave after being observed for three months, and their seats given to more sincere students.

The dates of admission will be announced here around the 6th of March (it is usually done in the last weekend of March).

Please cooperate. Your courtesy, decency and understanding is expected. Tired and on my way to retirement, I am not interested in conflicts, nor in teaching too many any more: 37 years has been long enough.

ANNOUNCEMENT

From 2025 class 9 admissions will be reduced to just two batches. Enrollments are almost over; names will stop being registered within a month or two. After that, names can only be put on a wait list, with no guarantee of admission.

I have been regretfully turning away CBSE students for years owing to age and lack of time. Now, my daughter, who has been my best student in 37 years, and has been herself teaching for more than 10, has started handling them at middle and high school range (as well as ICSE and ISC, if they are willing to learn online). She only teaches those whose parents are keen on seeing that they learn good English, not just cover their little school syllabuses. However, she is expensive, unless students study in same-class batches. For details, see notice below.

Exactly a month after I wrote the last post, things are still much the same, and I am continuing to teach just as before. However, students can come to visit and clarify their doubts and questions any day they like individually or in groups of three to four, between 5:30 and 8 in the evening, after notifying me by phone a day beforehand.

Also please note that names are being enrolled for class 8 and 9 next year since April. Do ring or visit to enroll early in order to avoid disappointment later. My numbers are 99328 49202 and 94751 50861. Always call between 10 and 12 in the morning or 6 and 9 in the evening.

Class 8 admissions have been suspended for now. After normal classes start, parents might enquire about vacancies. Class 9 admissions will continue in batches 1 and 3 (Monday/Thursday and Wednesday/Friday... see lists below). However, please note that all classes are currently being conducted only over the Internet.
