💙 YAARI – YOUTH AGAINST RAGGING | ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS WEEK 2026

Dr. B. C. Roy Academy of Professional Courses, Durgapur successfully organised Anti-Ragging Awareness Week 2026 from 12th to 18th August 2026 under the inspiring theme YAARI – Youth Against Ragging.”

Jointly organised by the NSS SFU Cell and Anti-Ragging Cell, the week-long initiative focused on sensitising students about the harmful consequences of ragging and strengthening a campus culture rooted in friendship, dignity, mutual respect, empathy and inclusivity.

📢 Awareness Seminars were conducted across departments throughout the week:
• 12 August – Department of Business Administration
• 13 August – BBA Supply Chain Management & BBA in Hospital Management
• 14 August – BCA
• 17 August – Bachelor of Optometry, MLT, Data Science & VFX and Animation

The sessions highlighted the physical, psychological, social and academic consequences of ragging, while reinforcing the institution’s zero-tolerance policy against ragging.

🏆 CELEBRATING CREATIVITY & COURAGE

The concluding ceremony was held on 18 August 2026 at Ashutosh Bhawan Seminar Hall, featuring an Extempore Competition followed by the prize distribution ceremony for the Poster Making and Extempore Competitions.

🥇 1st: Sambit Chattaraj – 3rd Semester, BBA
🥈 2nd: Sumit Paramanik – 3rd Semester, BBA-HM
🥉 3rd: Sukanya Mishra – 5th Semester, B.Sc. MLT

Sambit Chattaraj secured the first position in the Extempore Competition with an impressive presentation and confident expression of ideas on the theme.

🏆 The top three participants in both competitions were awarded trophies and certificates of appreciation for their creativity, confidence, enthusiasm and meaningful contribution towards building a safer campus.

The concluding ceremony was graced by Dr. Rajib Roy, Honourable Principal; Dr. Anita Nandi Barman, NSS Cell Coordinator; Purnendu Ruj, Anti-Ragging Cell Convenor; and Prof. Dr. Sayan Gupta, Anti-Ragging Cell Joint Convenor, along with faculty members, staff, NSS volunteers and students.

✨ The enthusiastic participation of students from different departments demonstrated a strong collective commitment to creating a safe, respectful, inclusive, harmonious and ragging-free academic environment.

The message of YAARI – Youth Against Ragging was clear and powerful:

Friendship, respect, empathy and mutual support must always replace ragging and intimidation.

🇮🇳 Celebrating 80 Years of Independence with Pride & Patriotism! 🇮🇳

Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur (Society) proudly celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a deep sense of national pride.

The celebrations at the campus of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College and Dr. B. C. Roy Academy of Professional Courses were graced by Dr. Satyajit Bose, President, BCREC Society; Mrs. Mita Mitra, Vice President, BCREC Society; Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar, Principal, BCREC; and Dr. Rajib Roy, Principal, BCRAPC.

🇮🇳 The dignitaries jointly hoisted the National Flag, followed by an impressive NCC Parade, reflecting the discipline, dedication and patriotic spirit of our students.

Addressing the gathering, the Principals encouraged students to look beyond academics and take an active role in the progress and development of the nation. Dr. Satyajit Bose emphasised that students are the future of the country and called upon them to strive for true independence—from ill health, poverty and bad culture.

The celebrations were also held jointly at the Bidhannagar Campus, comprising Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Sciences and Dr. B. C. Roy Polytechnic. The National Flag was jointly hoisted by Dr. Samir Kumar Samanta, Principal, BCRCP, and Dr. Arijit Banerji, Principal, BCRP, in the presence of faculty, staff and students.

✨ The celebrations across our institutions reaffirmed our collective commitment to freedom, unity, integrity and nation-building.

🌸 Nabinbaran 2026 | Welcoming the New Beginning! 🌸

Dr. B. C. Roy Academy of Professional Courses (BCRAPC), Durgapur, successfully organised Nabinbaran 2026, the Orientation Programme for the newly admitted first-year students of the 2026–27 academic session, at the Dulal Mitra Auditorium on the college campus.

The programme warmly welcomed the freshers and introduced them to the institution’s academic ecosystem, values, infrastructure, opportunities, and vibrant campus community, helping them begin their journey with confidence and a strong sense of belonging. 🎓✨

The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Satyajit Bose, President, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College Society; Sri Jernail Singh, Treasurer, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College Society; and Dr. Rajib Roy, Principal, Dr. B. C. Roy Academy of Professional Courses, along with members of the BCREC Society, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, senior students, and the newly admitted batch.

🌱 The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional watering of a plant, symbolising growth, sustainability, and the nurturing of knowledge.

In his welcome address, Dr. Rajib Roy encouraged the freshers to pursue academic excellence, innovation, discipline, and holistic development, while highlighting the institution’s commitment to quality education, industry-oriented learning, research, innovation, and overall personality development.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Satyajit Bose inspired students to embrace future challenges with confidence, determination, and a spirit of continuous learning. He emphasised the importance of ethical values, innovation, perseverance, and lifelong learning in shaping successful professionals and responsible citizens.

🎶💃 Adding colour and vibrancy to the celebration, Nabinbaran 2026 featured an engaging cultural programme of songs and dance performances by senior students. The celebration beautifully reflected the spirit of unity, inclusiveness, camaraderie, and togetherness, giving the freshers an opportunity to connect with their seniors and faculty members in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
