Every year, World Red Cross Day is celebrated globally to honor the efforts and sacrifices of the volunteers, staff, and members of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It is a day to promote humanitarian values and acknowledge the role this movement plays in saving lives, offering relief, and supporting vulnerable communities.
The official theme for World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on 8th May'2026 is: "Keeping Humanity Alive/On the side of Humanity: Hope, Help, Heal"

is a tribute to the everyday heroes who choose humanity over everything else. Their silent sacrifices and compassionate service deserve recognition — not just once a year, but always.

celebrated this day meaningful by visiting Durgapur Red Cross Society spreading the message of hope, help, and healing.A medical camp as well as CPR/AED training was organised by the Red cross society to educate the students. The event was an enriching experience in stealing the values of compassion, responsibility and community service.

With hearts so young, yet spirits wise,
We walked where hope and healing rise.
A card, a smile, a helping hand,
We learned what love can truly stand.
At Red Cross doors, we found the way,
To serve, to care, to light the day.
