🔹 1. Improves Clarity

When you’re confident, you speak more smoothly and organize your thoughts better. Without confidence, people often hesitate, mumble, or lose track of what they want to say.

🔹 2. Makes You More Understandable

Confidence helps with voice, tone, and pace. You’re more likely to speak at the right speed and volume, making it easier for others to follow you.

🔹 3. Builds Credibility

People tend to trust speakers who sound confident. Even a good idea can be ignored if it’s delivered with doubt or hesitation.

🔹 4. Reduces Fear and Anxiety

Confidence lowers nervousness, especially in public speaking. It helps you stay calm and focused instead of worrying about mistakes.

🔹 5. Encourages Participation

When you feel confident, you’re more likely to:

* Share your opinions
* Ask questions
* Join conversations

🔹 6. Supports Better Language Use

Confidence allows you to try new words or expressions without overthinking. This is especially important when learning a language.

🔸 Simple Idea

Confidence doesn’t mean being perfect—it means speaking without fear of making mistakes.

“used to” vs “would”:

🔹 Used to

* Describes past habits OR past states/situations that are no longer true.
* Can be used with:
* Actions: I used to play cricket.
* States: I used to live in Kolkata.
* Works with stative verbs (like be, know, love, have).

👉 Structure:
Subject + used to + base verb

🔹 Would

* Describes repeated past actions only (not states).
* Often used in storytelling or reminiscing.
* Cannot describe past states.

👉 Structure:
Subject + would + base verb

🔸 Key Differences

* Used to → habits + states
* Would → only repeated actions
* Used to works even without context; would usually needs a past-time context.

🔸 Examples

* I used to have a bicycle. ✅ (state)
* I would have a bicycle. ❌
* We used to go to the park every evening. ✅
* We would go to the park every evening. ✅ (habit)
