When national boundaries are rapidly melting away in the heat of global economic development and, when only the best will survive in true sense; our children cannot afford to remain contented with the rubric of traditional education. Time and society demands development of potentials-capacities and skills among our children to make them highly successful professionals, in this global culture; and

traditional learning system falls too short to do this. These qualities cannot be developed overnight. They are to be laboriously and elaborately developed over the period of years. The pattern of teaching –learning system that GDS (Gurukul the Day School ) has developed is all pervading. Along with the academic excellence it also develops Communication skills – Thinking skills – Right Values – Appropriate Attitudes in short, Core Competence. This makes our children confident to face the challenges of future. It is a matter of fact that many of our children will be opting foreign institutions for higher education. This needs extra ordinary preparation at school level to face tough competition of those renowned learning centers. Mere academic achievements are not, now a days, suffice to succeed. GDS (Gurukul the Day School) works o these thought lines and strives to impart excellence to our children through a team of dedicated staff, and innovative methods.)

The GDS family came together to mark the auspicious occasion of Deep Amavasya with devotion, mindfulness, and warmth. In a beautiful display of shared joy, every student contributed by bringing a diya from home. Hand-in-hand, students and teachers beautifully arranged the glowing lamps across the entire class. To enrich the experience, the day featured an insightful storytelling session where children learned about the rich history and importance of the festival, concluding with a serene session of guided meditation and peaceful prayers.🪔

Meet Shama Mavshi, our beloved caretaker, who has been showering every child with love and care for years. ❤️

Every year, children graduate and new little ones join us, but one thing never changes, her warmth, patience, and unconditional love. She truly treats every child as her own.

A few weeks ago, she sprained her hand and had to take leave. What touched our hearts was seeing how deeply our little 4-year-olds had missed her. We often think children don’t notice everything, but they observe far more than we imagine.

The moment they saw her again, they welcomed her with the biggest smiles and warmest hugs. To help them understand her injury, the teachers gave each child a small sticker to gently place on her bandage. From there, love, empathy, and kindness flowed naturally. 💛

Moments like these remind us that education isn’t just about books and academics. At GDS, we believe kindness, compassion, and values come first ! because that’s where true learning begins.

Our first PTM of the 2026–27 academic year felt less like a formal meeting and more like a family get-together.

Did we sit and list every child’s strengths and weaknesses? No.

Instead, we spoke about their experiences, behavioural patterns, daily habits, emotions, and overall growth. Because in pre-primary, learning is much more than academics.

What do our little learners truly need? Care. Safety. Affection. Discipline. And most importantly, a strong partnership between home and school.

At GDS, we are grateful to have parents who believe in working with us. Rather than looking for someone to blame, we come together, communicate openly, and find the best ways to help every child flourish.

Because when parents and teachers stand together, every child grows with confidence, love, and the right guidance. ❤️

The initiative aimed to promote early detection of vision concerns and encourage healthy eye care habits, ensuring our students continue to learn, grow, and thrive with clear vision.
