Namaskar/Aadab! 🙏
It is with a deep sense of emotion, gratitude and pride that we officially bring the first season of The Voice of Saraz to a close.
Before we turn the final page of Season 1, we sincerely thank each and every one of you for the love, encouragement and support you have given us since day one. Every kind word, comment, share, message and gesture of appreciation has meant a great deal to us and encouraged us to keep moving forward.
It has been a truly memorable journey, made possible by your trust, encouragement and participation.
Inspired by the literary principle of “art for life’s sake,” we began this journey with an implicit slogan: “Save Sarazi,” driven by a deep concern that our Sarazi language and cultural identity were facing an alarming rate of decline and gradual erosion. From the beginning, our endeavour was to use this platform not merely for entertainment, but to celebrate, document, preserve and promote the language, culture, heritage and identity of Saraz.
What makes this journey even more special is the incredible response we have received in just a few months. We have crossed 3,000 followers, while our content has been watched around 5 million times. We honestly never expected such an overwhelming response in such a short span of time. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey. ❤️🙏
We proudly believe that The Voice of Saraz is the only page across Saraz dedicated exclusively to the Sarazi language, culture, heritage, identity and the many things that represent Saraz. Over time, it has grown beyond its name and become a genuine platform for the people, stories, voices and cultural expressions of Saraz.
The trust and emotional connection of our audience have shown us that this is not merely a page, but a collective voice seeking to represent Saraz in its true spirit.
Throughout Season 1, we had the privilege of presenting guests, influencers, researchers, singers, dancers, writers, journalists, content creators, artists, scholars and countless other individuals from different parts of Saraz. We also had the honour of featuring people from outside Saraz who, in their own ways, have contributed to the promotion, preservation and understanding of Saraz, its people, language and culture.
We tried to bring before you not only people, but also their knowledge, talent, stories, work and contributions—whether big or small—that help keep our heritage alive.
We brought you the songs of almost every Sarazi singer, giving their voices and artistic contributions a platform and helping their work reach a wider audience. Alongside music, we celebrated Sarazi dance, poetry, comedy, rap, musical instruments, games and other forms of artistic expression.
In our effort to document Sarazi culture, we shared Sarazi Raaov/Sitni, Anjali, Ghati, Gureya Geet, Kathani, Punani, Barolo, Bhajan, Kirtan and Lori, along with Sarazi marriages, Janev, festivals, Jagrans, melas, pilgrimage sites and traditional cuisine. Through these efforts, we tried to capture the diverse cultural life of Saraz and preserve it for future generations.
At the same time, The Voice of Saraz was not limited to culture and entertainment. We also raised and highlighted issues affecting Saraz, its people, language, culture and future. We believe that preserving an identity also means giving space to the concerns, aspirations and issues of its people.
Over the course of Season 1, we believe we have made a meaningful contribution towards the concern with which we began. By bringing Sarazi into digital spaces, encouraging people to speak and create in Sarazi, documenting traditions, showcasing artists and their work, and giving the language a dedicated platform, we have tried to make Sarazi more visible, valued and relevant to the present generation.
In our humble way, we have tried to turn concern into action and nurture a renewed sense of pride, belonging and responsibility towards our language and culture.
Our purpose has always been simple: to document, celebrate, preserve and promote Saraz and its unique identity, while providing a platform to everyone who contributes towards keeping our language and culture alive.
As we conclude Season 1, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood with us, watched our content, shared their appreciation, enriched our discussions, shared our work and engaged with us throughout this journey.
Season 1 ends here, but the journey does not.
We assure you that we will return with an even more exciting, meaningful and enriching Season 2.
Until then, keep loving, keep supporting, and most importantly, keep our Sarazi language, culture and identity alive. ❤️
