Awareness Meeting on Cyber Hygiene & Cyber Security Held at Cluster HSS Sartingal

Doda, September 17: An awareness meeting on “Cyber Hygiene / Cyber Security” was organized at Cluster HSS Sartingal by the Cluster Nodal Officer (CNO), Principal Sh. Jeevan Kumar, for the School Nodal Officers (SNOs) of the cluster.

Dr. Nitan Singh Kotwal, Ph.D. in Computer Science & IT, served as the resource person and speaker. He highlighted the growing importance of cyber hygiene and cyber security in the present digital era and sensitized the participants about safe and responsible digital practices.

The participants were apprised of the importance of protecting personal information, maintaining digital safety, securing digital devices and staying vigilant against cyber threats while using online services.

It was also decided to conduct a follow-up awareness session on Cyber Security shortly, focusing on cyber frauds, hacking and other emerging cyber threats to further strengthen cyber security awareness and preparedness.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to promote cyber hygiene and digital safety among school staff and students.

Counselling & Mental Health Awareness Session Held at PM SHRI Higher Secondary School Bhalra, Bhaderwah

Doda,September 15-A counselling and awareness session was conducted at PM SHRI Higher Secondary School Bhalra, Bhaderwah by the Counselling Team of Samagra Shiksha, under the guidance of Chief Education Officer Doda, Sh. Bhushan Kumar Pathak, and headed by Dr. Qubra, Clinical Counsellor.

The session focused on mental health and emotional well-being, with special emphasis on academic stress management and awareness about Good Touch and Bad Touch, empowering students to understand personal safety, boundaries and appropriate responses.

The interactive session encouraged students to openly discuss their concerns and adopt healthy coping strategies for their overall well-being.

CEO Doda Conducts Surprise Inspection of Schools, Reviews Academic and Administrative Arrangements

Doda, September 14-Chief Education Officer Doda, Sh. Bhushan Kumar Pathak, conducted a surprise inspection of educational institutions to assess the academic and administrative functioning of schools and review the facilities being provided to students.

During the inspection, the CEO visited Government Higher Secondary School Jatheli and Government Higher Secondary School Mohalla Zone Gundna. He interacted with the teaching staff and students and took stock of various aspects of school functioning, including student attendance, teaching-learning activities, academic progress, discipline, cleanliness and overall school management.

The CEO emphasized the importance of maintaining a conducive learning environment and ensuring that classroom teaching remains focused on improving learning outcomes. He also interacted with students to understand their academic needs and encouraged them to remain regular in their studies and make optimum use of the facilities and resources available in their respective institutions.

While reviewing the functioning of the schools, CEO stressed upon the teaching staff to discharge their duties with dedication, punctuality and professionalism. He underscored the need for regular monitoring of students' academic performance and timely intervention wherever additional academic support is required.

The CEO also inspected the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the school premises and called for maintaining hygiene, discipline and safety standards across the institutions.

The surprise inspection reflects the Education Department's continued focus on strengthening school-level monitoring, improving educational standards and ensuring effective implementation of government initiatives in schools across District Doda.

Counselling Session on Mental Health and Well-being Held at PM SHRI GHSS Khellani

Doda, September 10- A counselling and awareness programme focusing on mental health and mental well-being was conducted today at PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School Khellani by the Counselling Team of Samagra Shiksha,under the guidance of Chief Education Officer Doda Sh.Bhushan Kumar Pathak, with the objective of promoting emotional well-being, positive mental health and a supportive school environment among students.

The counselling team was headed by Dr. Qubra, Clinical Counsellor, and the programme was conducted under the supervision of Principal, PM SHRI GHSS Khellani, Mtr. Nazia Munshi.

During the interactive session, students were sensitised about the importance of mental health, emotional balance, stress management, positive thinking, healthy relationships and the need to seek timely support whenever required. The counsellors encouraged students to communicate their concerns openly and emphasised that seeking professional support is a positive and responsible step towards maintaining good mental health.

As part of the programme, the counselling team also undertook individual case studies and one-to-one counselling sessions for students requiring personalised attention. These sessions provided students with a safe, confidential and supportive environment to discuss their individual concerns, while enabling the counsellors to understand their needs and provide appropriate guidance and support.

The programme underscored the continued efforts of Samagra Shiksha and the CEO Office Doda under the guidance of towards strengthening school-based counselling services and promoting the mental, emotional and overall holistic well-being of students across the district.

School Awareness Programme Held at PM SHRI Middle School Mandir, Bhaderwah

Doda, September 8- A school awareness programme was organised at PM SHRI Middle School Mandir, Bhaderwah, by the Counselling Team, Samagra Shiksha, CEO Office Doda, headed by Dr. Qubra, Clinical Counsellor. The programme focused on students’ mental health, emotional well-being, personal safety and positive behaviour.

During the interactive session, students were sensitised about empathy, active listening, mutual respect, healthy relationships and personal boundaries. They were encouraged to openly share their concerns and seek help whenever required.

Special emphasis was laid on personal safety and awareness regarding inappropriate or “bad touch.” Students were guided to confidently say “No,” move to a safe or crowded place, and immediately inform a trusted adult in case of an unsafe situation.

The importance of confidentiality, privacy and seeking timely support was also explained, along with the limits of confidentiality in situations involving a risk of harm. The session aimed to build confidence, emotional resilience and safe decision-making skills among students while promoting a secure, inclusive and child-friendly school environment.

The initiative was appreciated as a meaningful step towards the holistic development and well-being of students and strengthening safe learning spaces across the district.
