Government Nursing College Doda organized the International Nurses Day celebration under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives” with great enthusiasm and participation. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Dev Raj Dogra, Principal GMC Doda and under the supervision of Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, Coordinator Govt.Nursing College Doda.

The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Ahrar Ahmed Dev, who welcomed the guests, faculty members, and students and highlighted the significance of International Nurses Day.

A valuable and inspiring speech was delivered by Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, who emphasized the important role of nurses in strengthening healthcare services and acknowledged the dedication and contribution of the nursing profession toward society.

On the occasion, Dr. Irfan Tasaduq Deputy Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC Doda shared valuable information regarding the nursing profession and highlighted the life and contributions of Florence Nightingale to modern healthcare and nursing services.

During the celebration, nursing students presented various cultural and educational programmes including singing performances, quiz competitions, debate competitions, and other cultural activities. The institution also celebrated the entire week with different indoor and outdoor sports competitions, encouraging active participation among students.

Various dignitaries, faculty members, and guests from Government Medical College Doda and Government Nursing College Doda were present during the event.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session in which awards were distributed among students for various competitions. Meritorious students who excelled in the previous year’s University of Jammu examinations were also felicitated for their outstanding achievements.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Ms. Reeta Devi, Tutor Govt. Nursing College Doda who expressed gratitude to all the guests, faculty members, students, and organizers for making the celebration successful.

Govt. Nursing College Doda celebrated World Health Day

Doda::7th April 2026 under the theme “Together for Health: Stand with Science.” The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Dev Raj Dogra, Principal, GMC Doda, and was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, Coordinator, Govt. Nursing College Doda.

On this occasion, various activities were organized including a speech competition, seminar, and poster competition. The students actively participated and showcased their knowledge and creativity on important health-related topics.

The event was judged by Ms. Reeta Devi, Ms. Rifat Naz, Mr. Ahrar Ahmed Dev, and Ms. Rehana Banoo, faculty members of Govt. Nursing College Doda.

Among others present were Ms. Sandhiya Kotwal and Ms. Simran Parihar, who contributed to the successful conduct of the program.

The celebration highlighted the importance of scientific approaches in improving health and encouraged students to promote awareness in the community.

Doda::Government Nursing College Doda organized an Oath Ceremony for the newly admitted B.Sc. Nursing Batch 2025–26 in a solemn and dignified atmosphere at the college premises. The ceremony marked the formal entry of students into the noble profession of nursing, emphasizing compassion, dedication, and ethical responsibility.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, graced the occasion and inspired the students with his valuable words. He highlighted the importance of discipline, professional ethics, empathy, and commitment in the nursing profession and encouraged the students to serve humanity with sincerity and devotion.

The program commenced with a warm and inspiring welcome speech delivered by Mr. Ahrar Ahmed Dev, who greeted the Chief Guest, faculty members, and the new batch of students. He motivated the students to embrace the nursing profession with dedication, hard work, and a spirit of service.

Ms. Rehana Banoo administered the oath pledge to the students, where the new batch solemnly pledged to uphold the values, ethics, and responsibilities of the nursing profession.

Ms. Manisha Manhas shared her experience and delivered valuable words of wisdom to the students, guiding them to remain focused, compassionate, and committed throughout their professional journey.

Ms. Rifat Naza delivered a valuable and motivational speech, encouraging students to maintain discipline, academic excellence, and moral integrity.

The event was successfully coordinated by the faculty of Govt.
