We had the privilege to have an eminent personality,Dr. Akash*tora,who is an auntor,actor & a Director by professin on board with us to give a talk on "Confidence building & soft skills'. It was more of an interactive session,which really helped the candidates to build up their confidence. Apart from this,she also gave a few tips on grooming,styling & personality development which was very beneficial to the students.

With more than 20 years of experience,her talk really motivated the students to think of something new and innovative in the field of Fashion & Textile,as an entrepreneur.

Dr. Abhijit Sharma, Director,IIE took a session with the students of "Diploma in Fashion & Textile Technology" on the topic of 'Basic finance'. Apart from the technical subjects,the knowledge of basic finance & management is one of the requirements to be successful Entrepreneur in the field of fashion. Hence,with the same motto,we have tried to introduce a course like this in NER.

The candidates had put up their products that they had made till now during the course like shopping bags, coasters,file folders etc. The event was very successful where they ended up making 100% profit. Our students got the chance to participate in a 3 day workshop which was conducted by "Institute of Chemical Technology,Mumbai". The workshop was held which was held at Indian Institute of Handloom, Technology, Guwahati was on the topics of 'Fabric painting', 'Hand embroidery' & 'batik painting'. Our students got the chance to present their artworks on Assamese culture,which had One horned Rhino,bamboo,Jaapi, and traditional 'Xorai' to the chief guest of the programme Prof. Kale Of ICT,Mumbai. The artwork was appreciated by everyone
