🇮🇳✨ CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF FREEDOM – 80th INDEPENDENCE DAY ✨🇮🇳
Velammal Vidhyashram, Dindigul celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026 with immense patriotism, pride and enthusiasm.
The celebration was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Subedar R. Nallamani, a distinguished veteran of the Indian Army, who participated in the Kargil War and also served in Operation Sindoor. His courageous service to the nation and his contribution to the defence of our country stand as an inspiration to generations. His presence on this special occasion gave our students a valuable opportunity to learn about the courage, sacrifice, discipline, dedication and patriotism of our armed forces.
🇮🇳 FLAG HOISTING & PATRIOTIC SPIRIT
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The entire campus resonated with patriotic pride as students and teachers came together to honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the brave soldiers who continue to safeguard our nation.
🎭 A SPECTACULAR CULTURAL CELEBRATION
The celebration witnessed a vibrant showcase of student talent. Students from the Primary, Middle School, High School and Higher Secondary sections participated enthusiastically in a series of captivating cultural programmes.

🏆 INDEPENDENCE DAY COMPETITIONS – PRIZE DISTRIBUTION
A special Prize Distribution Ceremony was conducted to honour the winners of the Independence Day competitions held for students from Grades 1 to 9.
Students participated with great enthusiasm in various competitions and activities designed to develop creativity, communication skills, confidence, teamwork and patriotic values.
The compartment-wise classroom and corridor decoration competition added special colour to the celebrations. Students creatively showcased themes such as patriotism, freedom fighters, India's glorious legacy and Modern India, transforming the school campus into a vibrant celebration of our nation's spirit.
The winners were felicitated for their outstanding performance and efforts, while the enthusiastic participation of every student was appreciated and celebrated.

The presence and inspiring journey of Subedar R. Nallamani made the celebration more than just a commemorative event. His life of service reminded our students that the freedom and security we enjoy today are protected by the courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of our soldiers.
