Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya organized an Institution-Level Quiz Competition under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 on 25 September 2026 at 12:30 PM in the Smart Classroom of the college. The programme was organized to promote awareness, knowledge, civic values, social responsibility, teamwork, confidence and healthy competitive spirit among students. The event was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Pintu Roy, Department of History, and Ms. Ritti Kalita, Department of Hindi, with Dr. Jovial Kalita as the Quiz Master.

Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya successfully organized the Institution-Level Student Art Competition on 25 September 2026 under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, Held in the college's Smart Classroom, the event aimed to foster civic responsibility, environmental awareness, and cultural pride while giving students a creative outlet to reflect on Assam's rich culture .
​Six Higher Secondary students from Classes IX through XII participated under Category C of the Standard Operating Procedure. The event was organized by committee members Dr. Pintu Roy and Ms. Ritti Kalita, with Dr. Jovial Kalita, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of English, serving as the judge.

Successful Completion of Three-Day Workshop on Research Methodology in Social Science Research

The Department of Education and Department of History, Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, in collaboration with the IQAC, successfully organised a Three-Day Workshop on Research Methodology in Social Science Research from 23rd to 25th September 2026 for the students of the 7th Semester Social Science discipline.

The workshop aimed to develop students’ understanding of the research process and equip them with essential research skills. The sessions covered research foundations and process, research design, literature review, research problems, data collection and sampling, data analysis, digital research, and academic writing. The sessions were conducted by resource persons who shared valuable academic knowledge and practical research insights.

The workshop concluded successfully with a valedictory session on 25th September 2026. The organisers express their sincere gratitude to the Principal, resource persons, IQAC, faculty members, and participating students for their valuable support and active participation.

The successful completion of the workshop marks a meaningful step towards fostering research awareness and skills among undergraduate students of Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya.

Speech Competition under “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan”

A Speech Competition under the initiative “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” was organised at Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya Date-23/09/2026 for the students of Undergraduate (UG) and Higher Secondary levels. The programme aimed to provide students with a platform to express their ideas, develop public-speaking skills, and nurture confidence, creativity, and a sense of social responsibility.

Students from both categories participated enthusiastically and delivered thought-provoking speeches on relevant social and contemporary issues. Their presentations reflected their knowledge, confidence, communication skills, and commitment towards the values of service and social responsibility.

The competition created an engaging and meaningful environment for the students and encouraged them to become responsible and active members of society. The event concluded with appreciation for all the participants and encouragement for their continued participation in such constructive activities.

Three-Day Students’ Workshop on “Social Sciences Research Methodology” was organised jointly by the Department of Education and Department of History, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The workshop commenced with its inaugural session on 23rd September 2026 at 10:00 AM at Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya.
The workshop was organised with the objective of developing students’ understanding of the fundamental concepts, processes and techniques of research in the social sciences. It aims to familiarise students with systematic approaches to research and encourage critical thinking, academic inquiry and evidence-based understanding of social issues.

The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. Jovial Kalita Vice Principal, Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya. In his address, he highlighted the importance of developing research aptitude among students and encouraged them to cultivate curiosity, analytical thinking and a systematic approach towards academic research.

The technical sessions of the workshop was conducted by the resource person Ms. Jeherin Nesha, Research Scholar, Dibrugarh University

The resource person provide students with valuable insights into various aspects of social sciences research methodology, including formulation of research problems, research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation and other essential components of the research process.

The workshop provides an important platform for students to interact with experienced researchers and faculty members and to enhance their understanding of research practices. It also seeks to nurture a research-oriented academic environment within the institution.

The programme reflects the commitment of Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya towards promoting research culture, academic excellence and meaningful learning among its students. The workshop carries forward the inspiring theme:

“Research Today for a Better Tomorrow.”

The inaugural session marked a meaningful beginning to the three-day workshop, with students participating with enthusiasm and academic curiosity. The subsequent technical sessions are expected to further enrich the participants’ knowledge and practical understanding of research methodology.
