CEC, New Delhi and Dibrugarh University Host Online Workshop on Digital Education
June 11, 2026: The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), an Inter University Centre established by the University Grants Commission of India, joined hands with Dibrugarh University to organize an online workshop aimed at raising awareness about Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and digital education.
The workshop drew participation from over 90 academicians representing Dibrugarh University and its affiliated colleges. Proceedings began with a welcome address by CEC's Joint Director (SW), who outlined the organization's initiatives and highlighted 172 CEC MOOCs lined up on the SWAYAM platform for the forthcoming July–December semester. A screening of the CEC Showreel gave attendees a comprehensive look at CEC's 20 Media Centres, SWAYAM DTH Channels, and other key initiatives.
A Project Associate from CEC followed with a detailed presentation on the fundamentals and current status of CEC MOOCs, after which Prof. Mridul Bordoloi, Director of EMRC Dibrugarh, offered his remarks. A question-and-answer session allowed participants to seek clarity on MOOCs-related queries, addressed by the CEC Coordinator. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from CEC's Consultant of Research and Training.
CEC, which operates through a network of 20 Media Centres, is mandated to expand access to higher education through television broadcasting and emerging ICT platforms.
