On 13th August, my small group and I reached Sivasagar, Assam. By the time we reached there, the relief work organised by a reputed NGO with the support of PERI and other organisations, was already underway. Our Director Sir and his team were also there, supporting the initiative and helping in the distribution of essential goods to the flood-affected people. We joined them in this effort.
It was a very heartbreaking sight to see people lying on the dividers of the main road after losing everything in the flood. Seeing their condition was really painful.
It was a very different experience for me. Being able to help them, even in a small way, touched my heart. I felt grateful to be a part of this initiative.
It was truly an experience that I will remember and cherish for a lifetime. 🙏
