Now this is for our dear Teachers. They meticulously plan a ‘Test’ (Assessment task in its true sense); Mark the test ; and then what???
Bachon ki shamat aa Jati hai😫
The true purpose of a ‘test’ is for the teacher to know about the strengths and difficulties of individual students. So that the teacher-student can work together to polish skills and fill the gaps in learning so as to make learning successful in real sense.
But the actual purpose is long forgotten in ’the high standard Schools’. As soon as the ‘test’ result is out.. the blame game and fault finding begins.. followed by seizing all the things that give pleasure to the so called ‘naughty and careless’ students. Parents are shattered by teachers’ comments about their kids future. The comments such as ‘he even failed in Punjabi.. not to talk of English’, makes the parents more embarrassed than anything else in the world.
Then.. the story of ‘Taare Zameen par’ unfolds for every Ishaan in the family. But not all of them are lucky to find Aamir khans..
So teachers, parents, and siblings of all the lovely students, please help the young ones enjoy their life and understand that failing a test is not the end of the world. Teachers please ponder over the true meaning of the assessment tasks.
