Bikali College, Dhupdhara formally celebrated its 44th Foundation Day (1982–2026) in conjunction with the Pre-Bihu Utsav. The programme commenced with the ceremonial flag hoisting by Principal Monoj Gogoi, followed by the felicitation of the founding members of the institution. The occasion was further enriched by cultural performances including Rabha, Boro and Bihu dances, and concluded with a vibrant Jeng Bihu with active participation from faculty, staff and students.

Dr. Monoj Gogoi joined as the Principal of Bikali College, Dhupdhara on 14th March 2026. On his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Principal In-charge, Dr. Monalisha Roychaudhury, faculty members of Bikali College, Dr. Radha Charan Rabha, President of the Governing Body, along with other Governing Body members, members of Bikali Mouza, Tini Doliya Raiz of Dhupdhara, and students of the college.

In a ceremonial gesture, he was enthusiastically escorted by the NCC cadets of Bikali College from the main gate of the campus to the Administrative Building.

Dr. Nishant Kashyap Ghatowar, Librarian, and Jitumoni Das, Assistant Librarian, Bikali College, were awarded the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Knowledge Organization in Academic Libraries (I-KOAL) 2026.

The conference was held on 30–31 January 2025 at Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, and was organized by the Library Professional Association, New Delhi.

They received the award for their research paper titled “Ontology Development of Indigenous Farming Equipments of the Mising Community of Assam.” The award was presented by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University.

Dr. Aparajita Rabha, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Bikali College, was felicitated by the Principal In-charge, Dr. Monalisha Roychaudhury, in the presence of faculty members of the college for her research publication in a Scopus indexed journal.

Her paper titled “Morphological Variation in Wings of Drosophila Species from Assam–Meghalaya Rolling Terrain” has been published in the Journal of Entomological Research.

Book Launch | International Women’s Day 2026

A book titled “Women Leaders and Their Contributions: A Multidimensional Study of Women’s Space in the History of the Undivided Goalpara District”, edited by Banasri Saikia, Dr. Jayshree Kalita, Bimala Hajowary and Prasanta Pathak, was formally launched on 7th March 2026 on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Bikali College, Dhupdhara.

The book was inaugurated by Dr. Anuradha Sarma, Professor, Gauhati University, in the presence of Dr. Monalisha Roychaudhury, Principal In-charge, Bikali College, and Dr. Abdul Haque Ahmed, Retired Associate Professor, Bikali College.

The publication highlights the significant contributions of women leaders and explores the multidimensional role and space of women in the history of the undivided Goalpara district.

2nd Padmashree Birubala Rabha Memorial Lecture | International Women’s Day 2026

The 2nd Padmashree Birubala Rabha Memorial Lecture was organized on 7th March 2026 on the occasion of International Women’s Day by the Women Cell, Bikali College, Dhupdhara.

The programme featured Dr. Anuradha Sarma, Professor, Gauhati University, as the Resource Person, who delivered an insightful lecture titled “Give to Gain: Role of Young Women in Bringing Change.” The programme was also graced by Dr. Abdul Haque Ahmed, Retired Associate Professor, Bikali College, as a distinguished guest.

The programme was coordinated by Banasri Saikia, Assistant Professor and In-charge, Women Cell, Bikali College. The event was attended by faculty members and students of the college, making it a meaningful celebration of International Women’s Day through reflection, learning and inspiration.

The Bikali College Students’ Union organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme on 28th February 2026 to promote responsible driving and public awareness on traffic safety.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Nazrul Islam, Amal Rabha, Ashim Kachari, Assistant Professor, Bikali College, and was carried out with the support and cooperation of Bikali Mouza and the Dhupdhara Police Station, Assam Police. Students actively participated in spreading awareness about road safety rules, safe driving practices, and the importance of following traffic regulations for the protection of lives.

Such initiatives reflect the commitment of Bikali College students towards building a safer and more responsible community.

On 26th February 2026, Shri Jugal Kishore Talukdar, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Bikali College, had the honour of attending the inauguration of the Advanced Industry 4.0 Technology Centre at ITI Dudhnoi, Kothakuthi as the Co-Chief Guest along with CO-DC, Dudhnoi, Shri Anupam Boro.
The centre has introduced several advanced industry-oriented courses in collaboration with Tata Technologies, including Product Design & Development, Paint Spray Technology, Product Verification & Analysis, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Elevator Control, Electric Vehicle Diagnostics, Lighting and Wiring, among others. The initiative aims to equip students with modern technical skills aligned with Industry 4.0 requirements.

During the occasion, the CO-DC was also invited to visit Bikali College for upcoming institutional events, which he graciously accepted.
