A CUP OF COFFEE
================
I sat with my friend at a well known coffee shop in a neighboring town of Venice, Italy. When we were drinking coffee, a man entered and sat at an empty table beside us. He called the waiter and placed his order, "Two cups of coffee, one for me and one on the wall."

We heard this order with some interest. Then he was served with one cup of coffee, but he paid for two cups.

As soon as he left, the waiter pasted a piece of paper on the wall saying ‘A Cup of Coffee’.

When we were still there, two other men entered and sat. They ordered "three cups of coffee, two on the table and one on the wall."

They drank two cups of coffee but paid for three. Then they left.

This time also, the waiter did the same. He pasted a piece of paper on the wall saying, ‘A Cup of Coffee’.

It was something unique and perplexing for us. We finished our coffee, paid the bill and left.

After a few days, we had a chance to go to this coffee shop again. While we were enjoying our coffee, a poor man entered.

He sat and looked at the wall. Then he said 'One cup of coffee from the wall'.

The waiter served coffee to this man with a lot of respect. The poor man drank his coffee and left without paying.

Then the waiter removed one piece of paper from the wall and threw it in a dust bin.

We were amazed to watch all this. Now it was no surprise for us – the matter was very clear. We understood the great respect given to the poor people by the inhabitants of this town. This made our eyes wet.

Poor people can enter this coffee shop without shyness. They dont need to beg anyone. They dont need to ask for a free cup of coffee. They can sit comfortably, look at the wall, place an order and enjoy their coffee.

Probably this is the most beautiful wall you can ever see anywhere...........................................................................................................

How to get Success (A small story)
============================
A young man asked Socrates the secret of success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning.

They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him into the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates swiftly sank him into the water.

The young man struggled to get out. But Socrates was strong and kept him there for some time. Socrates pulled the man's head out of the water. Then the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air.

Socrates asked him, "what did you want the most when you were inside the water?"
The boy replied, "Air. I desired to get air with my whole body and mind. I could not think about any other thing. I thought air was the one and only thing I wanted. I struggled a lot with my whole body and mind to get air."

Socrates said, "That is the secret of success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it. There is no other secret."...........................................................

The crow and the cuckoo (a small story)
==================================
A crow was flying. A cuckoo asked him ”Uncle, where are you going?”

The crow said, ”I dont want to live here. The people are very bad here. No one here welcomes my song and my singing. So I am going to the East. I heard that people in the East are very good.”

The cuckoo said, ”I have to tell you one thing. whether you go to the East or to the West, wherever you go, as long as your throat is harsh, you will experience difficulty everywhere. Transform your throat. No change will happen by going East or West. The people in the East and the people in the west are same.”

If our words are sweet, all the people are good to us. If our words are harsh, all the people are bad to us..............

The man who started his life at 65 (A True story )
======================================

There was an old man, in USA, who was a complete failure in his life. At the age of 5, his father died. At 16, he quit school. At 17, he had already lost 4 jobs. At 18, he married. But his wife left him after 2 years. Between the ages 18 and 22, he worked as a railroad conductor, but failed. He joined the army, but he was dismissed. He applied for a law school, but he was rejected. He became an insurance salesman, but failed again. His entire life was full of failures, uncertainty and depression.

At the age of 65, he had nothing in his life, except a very small house and a beat-up car. He decided to commit su***de. But he wanted to get at least one success, "before dying". He remembered that all his friends praise his ability in cooking chicken.

He decided to sell fried chicken. Using his own recipe, he fried some chicken and started selling in his city. He told restaurant owners that he had a mouth-watering chicken food. But nobody wanted his fried chicken in the city. He went from one restaurant to another restaurant continuously to sell his fried chicken. But "he was rejected 1009 times". Finally his fried chicken was accepted by a restaurant. Customers started liking his tasty food.

After sometime, he started his own restaurant. It ran successfully. Gradually he expanded his restaurants all over the USA. He became one of the richest billionaires in America. This old man is Colonel Sanders. He was the founder and CEO of the world famous company "Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)". Today his restaurants are available in all the cities of all the countries.

Many people retire at 60. But Colonel Sanders started his career at 65. He proved that age is not a problem for success. He had a burning desire to win. So he won.

Have a burning desire in your mind. Have a strong confidence in yourself. You will win. .........................................................................

She understood the secret (A small story)
===================================

Sharon was a beautiful, rich, expensively dressed lady. She felt that her whole life was empty and worthless. It had no meaning, after her husband passed away. She became alone in the big house. All her cars, house, expensive furniture, French Perfume, Persian Carpet, Imported Piano were just useless objects to her. After a long thinking, she decided to do something about it. So the lady went to visit a psychiatrist to cure her depression and to get a long-lasting happiness.

The psychiatrist listened to Sharon for 30 minutes. Then he called an old lady who was cleaning the floor. The psychiatrist told Sharon "She is my maid, Mary. I'm going to ask her to tell you how she found happiness. Please listen to her."

So the maid, Mary, put down her broom and sat on a chair and told her story "Well, my husband died of malaria and three months later my only son was killed in a car accident. I had nobody. I had nothing left. I couldn't sleep, I couldn’t eat, I never smiled at anyone, I even thought of committing su***de.

Then one evening, a little kitten followed me home from work. Somehow I felt pity for that kitten. It was cold outside, so I decided to allow the kitten inside. I gave it some milk, and the kitten licked the plate clean. Then it purred and rubbed against my leg. For the first time, in months, I smiled and felt happy.

Then I thought that if helping a little kitten could make me smile, doing something for people could make me happier. So the next day, I baked some biscuits and took them to a neighbor who was sick in bed. Every day I tried to do something nice for someone. It made me so happy, when I saw them happy. Today, I believe Im the happiest person. I did not see a person who is as happy as I am. I have found this great happiness in helping others."

After listening to Mary, the rich lady, sharon, got relaxation. Sharon understood the secret of happiness. She understood that happiness in life is existed in helping others, giving others, caring others and making them happy. If you help others, you get happiness. Your bliss depends on how happy others can be, because of you.

Then and there, she decided to be happy. She expressed her gratitude to the psychiatrist and Mary. She went her home to start a new life. ......................................................................

Wonders in your life (A small story)
============================
A teacher told her pupils to write the names of "Seven wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, most of the pupils wrote the following list :

2)The Great Pyramid of Giza
3)The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
4)The Lighthouse of Alexandria
5)The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
6)The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
7)The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

While gathering the answer sheets, the teacher noted that one girl, Angela, has not finished her paper yet. So the teacher asked the girl if she was having any trouble with her list.

Angela replied, "Yes, a little. I could not make up my mind because there are so many wonders."

The teacher said, "Well, tell me what you have"

Angela hesitated, then read, "I think the 'Seven Wonders of the World' are:
1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love."

The room was so quiet. you could hear a pin drop.
The teacher appreciated her and hugged her.

The teacher said "Angela is right. Her list of seven wonders are correct. And we have many more wonders in our lives. But we take them for granted. People always focus on what they dont have. They continuously think about their problems and worries. So people worry. But People should focus on what they have. If people think about what they have, their lives will be amazing and wonderful. The list of wonders in your life is unlimited. Your mother, father, brother, sister, your friends, your bed, your dress, the food you eat, the water you drink, the shoes you wear......the list goes on. This amazing list of wonders is unlimited. Always remember the list of wonders in your life. This is the secret of happiness". ............................................................................................
