Pramathesh Barua College solemnly observed the death anniversary of Late Pratima Pandey Barua, fondly remembered as the Queen of Goalpara Lok Geet, today with deep respect and reverence. The college community paid heartfelt tribute to the legendary folk icon whose invaluable contribution enriched the cultural heritage of Assam. On this occasion, local artists rendered her timeless Goalpara Lok Geet, creating an atmosphere of remembrance and cultural pride. The programme stood as a humble homage to her enduring legacy and her lifelong dedication to preserving and popularising Assamese folk music.

The Studentsâ Welfare Committee of Pramathesh Barua College successfully organised an âAwareness Session on Stray Dogsâ on 20th December 2025 in the Digital Classroom.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Parbin Sultana, Assistant Professor of Political Science, who served as the resource person. She thoughtfully highlighted issues related to humane treatment of stray dogs, responsible coexistence, and the importance of social awareness and civic responsibility.
The program witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, making the session informative, engaging, and impactful. The Studentsâ Welfare Committee extends its sincere gratitude to the resource person and all participants for their valuable presence and cooperation, which ensured the successful completion of the program.

The Studentsâ Welfare Committee of Pramathesh Barua College successfully organised a Mental Health Awareness Program on 20 December 2025.
The programme aimed at creating awareness about mental well-being, reducing stigma, and highlighting the importance of emotional health among students and faculty members. The session witnessed active participation and thoughtful engagement, making it a meaningful and impactful initiative.
The College extends its sincere appreciation to Mrs Shilpee Roy, Associate professor, Dept of Bengali, Mr. Diganta Biswas, Associate professor Dept of Accountancy and Mr Hasib MD Iqbal, Associate professor Dept of Economics for sharing their insights and inspiring the students. We also thank all the participants for their enthusiastic presence and support, which contributed significantly to the success of the programme. Pramathesh Barua College in collaboration with Digital Learning Cell of the College organised One Day Sensitisation Workshop on âIT and Emerging Technologiesâ, organised under the Job-Oriented Short-term Certificate Course on ICT Based Skills Programme for SC/ST students, in collaboration with NIELIT, and aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
The programme was conducted under the guidance and presence of Dr. Subrata Bora, Regional Coordinator, NIELIT, and Dr. Saurav Mahanta, Coordinator, NSQF Courses, whose valuable insights greatly enriched the workshop. The sessions focused on creating awareness about Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and other emerging technologies, while highlighting the importance of skill-based education and employment-oriented training.
The workshop witnessed active participation from students and proved to be highly informative and impactful in motivating learners towards digital empowerment and career readiness.

The Red Ribbon Club and Health Unit of Pramathesh Barua College jointly organised a human chain and awareness campaign on 1st December /2025 on the occasion of World Aids Day. Around 170 students, faculty members and Office staff gathered in the college premises to form the chain.
The activity symbolized unity and collective responsibility in creating awareness about HIV/AIDS.
Students display Poster and banners displaying key messages about prevention, breaking stigmas, and the importance of education in combating HIV/AIDS.

delivered speeches on the subject of AIDS and HIV in front of the students in the College campus.

The Department of Accountancy, Management and Finance (Commerce Stream), Pramathesh Barua College, Gauripur, successfully organized an Expert Talk on âBuilding Business Excellence: Ethics, Skills and Entrepreneurial Mindsetâ on 28th October 2025 at the collegeâs Digital Classroom.
The session was graced by Dr. Payal Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, PDUAM, Tulungia, as the Resource Person. Her insightful deliberation enriched the studentsâ understanding of business ethics, professional skills, and entrepreneurial mindsetâmotivating them to pursue excellence in their future endeavors.

Career Guidance and Counselling Cell, P.B. College, Gauripur in collaboration with IQAC, P.B. College and SPM IAS Academy, Guwahati, successfully organised a Seminar on Civil Services Preparation and Career Opportunities on 15th October 2025 at the Digital Classroom.
The keynote address was delivered by Anupam Das, Faculty, Department of Political Science and International Relations, who enlightened the students about effective strategies, challenges, and the diverse career prospects within the Civil Services.
The program was coordinated by Gitartha Bhuyan, SPM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Undergraduate (FYUGP) students who gained valuable insights into preparing for one of the most prestigious examinations in the country.
