Sodium (Na) has 11 electrons and loses 1 electron to become a stable Na⁺ ion. 🔥
But where does that electron go? 🤔

⚛️ Isobars — Same Mass Number, Different Atomic Numbers!

Isobars are atoms of different elements having the same mass number (A) but different atomic numbers (Z).

📌 Example: ¹⁴₆C and ¹⁴₇N
➡️ Same mass number = 14
➡️ Different atomic numbers = 6 and 7

💡 Remember: Isobars → Same A, Different Z.

Why is the formula of sodium oxide Na₂O? 🤔
Sodium loses 1 electron to form Na⁺, while oxygen gains 2 electrons to form O²⁻. Therefore, two sodium atoms combine with one oxygen atom to form Na₂O.
