Why Choose Commerce
The major reason behind the discrimination and wrong perceptions are social beliefs. The myths are common beliefs. It has been inscribed into our society that science is better than commerce and that commerce is for academically weak students who achieve low grades. Many students are directly or indirectly forced to follow these social norms. Many students end up having the same beliefs as the society has. Students in the end have to comply with these norms due to pressure or misguidance provided by parents, any professional body within the educational institution they are studying in, or any other elder. One of the reasons that these social beliefs continue is lack of knowledge. Parents obviously want what is good for children, but many of them have a science background and think that commerce like always has no value. Government is also to be blamed for discrimination. It is the responsibility of the government to spread awareness about opportunities that commerce stream offers. It should also provide proper counseling to local board students. It could also improve the quality of commerce education in local boards. There is a massive need for change and everyone should acknowledge that the potential of commerce education like it is acknowledged is US and UK economies.
*THE TRUTH*
The truth is that commerce is a really fascinating field. It is usually more interesting than science because a student is introduced to completely new subjects. A student routinely studies science throughout primary and secondary, but the subjects of accounting, business and economics are completely new and therefore happen to be more interesting. There are intelligent students who opt for commerce, and many of them outscore science students. The commerce curriculum also builds communication skills, confidence, management skills and many other qualities in a student. Commerce students occasionally come up with good business ideas and work towards it as a team. On the other hand, science students do not come up with scientific ideas as frequently. Business is the yet know biggest earning source known to humanity, and commerce subjects give a comprehensive understanding of business matters. In addition, graduation and masters are traditionally done in fewer years in commerce stream. Science stream, on the other hand, takes up a lot of time and leaves students with lesser years to earn. There are just so many reasons or answers to the question: Why choose commerce? Commerce is just one of the best educational field.
