Report on House-wise News Reading Competition

A House-wise News Reading Competition was held today at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dhemaji .Students participated enthusiastically in Assamese, English, and Hindi news reading events.
The competition was judged by Anil Sir (Hindi), Minakshi Didi (English), and Kaustubh Sir (Assamese). Participants were evaluated on pronunciation, fluency, voice modulation, accuracy, presentation, and time management.
The programme was conducted successfully with the cooperation of all teachers and students and provided a good platform for enhancing students’ communication and public speaking skills.

Report on Clay Modelling, Embroidery Workshop and Paper Pointer Making Activity

A creative and skill-based workshop on Clay Modelling and Embroidery, along with an activity on preparing paper pointers using newspapers, was successfully conducted in the school with the aim of enhancing students’ creativity, fine motor skills, and awareness towards the use of eco-friendly materials.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of esteemed resource persons—Ms. Nayanmoni Borah (Lecturer, DIET), Ms. Junmoni Rajkhowa (Work Education Teacher), Mr. Indrajit Gam (Lecturer, DIET), and Ms. Rasmi Doley (Coordinator, FLN).
During the session, students actively participated in clay modelling activities, where they expressed their creativity by shaping various objects. The embroidery segment helped students learn basic stitching techniques, promoting patience, concentration, and appreciation for traditional art forms.
In addition, students were engaged in preparing paper pointers using old newspapers, which highlighted the importance of recycling and environmental awareness. The activity was both educational and enjoyable, encouraging students to think innovatively while using waste materials effectively.
The workshop proved to be highly beneficial as it provided hands-on learning experiences and fostered creativity, teamwork, and practical skills among the students. The guidance and support of the resource persons made the session interactive and enriching.
Overall, the programme was a great success and was appreciated by both students and teachers.

Report on Counselling Session

A counselling session was conducted today for the parents and students of Classes V to VII to promote students’ overall development and well-being.

The session was led by Ms. Mousumi Boruah Bordoloi, Principal of DIET College, along with Mr. Monoj Konwar (Lecturer), Mr. Indrajit Gam (Lecturer), and Ms. Rasmi Doley, Coordinator (FLN). They guided both parents and students on the importance of positive thinking, discipline, and active learning.

A separate counselling session for parents was conducted by Ms. Mousumi Boruah Bordoloi, where she emphasized the role of parents in supporting their children’s education by limiting the use of digital resources and involving them in different other activities.She emphasized on the use of audio visual aids to be used which develops a childs listening skills through which the ideas developed.She has even emphasized on story telling, giving time to children at home and listening to them.

Students also participated in various games and activities. Each activity was followed by a discussion of its moral, helping students understand important life values in an engaging way.

Overall, the session was informative, interactive, and beneficial for teachers, students, and parents.

A Counselling Session for students and parents of classes VIII to X was successfully conducted today at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dhemaji.

We were honoured to have Dr. Pranjal Buragohain, Associate Professor, Department of Education, Dibrugarh University, as the resource person. His insightful session highlighted student motivation, mental well-being, career awareness, and effective parenting strategies.

The interaction was engaging and beneficial for both students and parents, leaving everyone inspired.

The Vidyarambha Ceremony was organized today at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dhemaji, marking an auspicious beginning to the new academic session. The students were warmly welcomed on the first day with Tilak, Chandan, and Aarti, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Parents of Classes IX and X were invited to grace the occasion and bless the students, making the event more meaningful and encouraging. A devotional Bhajan was presented by the students of Class X to invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
The gathering was further enriched by the inspiring address of Honorable Principal Sir, who highlighted the plans and vision for the entire academic session and motivated the students to work with sincerity and dedication. Students sought the blessings of their teachers and parents before entering their classrooms.
The programme concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Path, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and positivity.
