Farewell-cum-Freshers Meet of History Department: (09/09/2025)

The Farewell of the Sixth Semester students and Freshers of the First Semester students of the Department of History, Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College, Dhekiajuli, was organized today at Bezbaroah Hall. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Jyotshna Baruah, Head of the Department of History.
Distinguished guests present on the occasion were Dr. Jogendra Saikia, President of College Governing Body; Dhrubajyoti Hazarika, Ex-HOD of History; and Dr. Hariprasad Baruah, Coordinator, IQAC; Shantana Bora,Asst Professor, Department of Botany. All the faculty members of the department graced the programme with their presence.
The event was marked with vibrant interaction between outgoing and incoming students, along with words of encouragement and blessings from teachers and guests.

Orientation programme for the 1st semester students and Add-on course Certificate Distribution Ceremony.

The Department of History organized an orientation programme for the 1st semester students, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony for the Add-on Course. The orientation programme began with a welcome to the new students and an introduction to departmental activities, course structure, and opportunities.

Faculty members present were Dr. Jyotshna Baruah, Tapash Pujari, Navajit Saikia, and Deepshikha Deka. Distinguished guests included Governing Body President Dr. Jogen Saikia, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Hari Prasad Baruah, HOD of Chemistry Department Dr. Pitambar Sedai, and Dr. Mukut Ch. Baruah, Assistant Professor of Political Science.
All speakers emphasized the importance of the Add-on Course “Life Skills, Personality Development, and General Wellbeing.” After the end of the orientation programme, the certificate distribution ceremony was held. NCC cadet Mansha Bodo presented a melodious Hindi song, and the programme concluded successfully.
