🌾 THE RICE STORY | Experiential Learning Programme
Today, our little learners stepped beyond the classroom and into the paddy fields at Kalikapur, Dharmanagar, to experience The Rice Story first-hand. From touching the soil and water to carefully planting rice seedlings, the children experienced a part of our region’s agricultural life through their own hands.
Experiences like these are at the heart of foundational learning—where children learn not only by seeing and listening, but by doing, exploring and engaging with the world around them. Planting the delicate seedlings also encouraged coordination, balance, hand–eye coordination and fine-motor control, while the sensory experience of soil, water and plants made learning tangible and meaningful.
At our school, we believe some lessons are best learnt outside the classroom, with our hands in the soil.
