আইনস্টাইন ছোটবেলায় তুলনামূলক অনেক
দেরীতে কথা বলতে শেখেন। একারণে তাঁর
বাবা মা অনেক দুশ্চিন্তায় ছিলেন। একদিন
রাতে খাবার টেবিলে বসে সকলে খাচ্ছেন
এমন সময় বালক আইনস্টাইন চিৎকার করে
বললেন, ‘এই স্যুপটা বড্ড গরম। তাঁর বাবা-মা যেন হাঁফ ছেড়ে বাঁচলেন। ছেলের মুখে প্রথম কথা
শুনে বাবা-মা বেশ অবাক হয়ে তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস
করলেন, ‘আগে তুমি কথা বলোনি কেন?’
উত্তরে আইনস্টাইন বললেন, ‘কারণ এর আগে
তো সব ঠিকই ছিল।'
