I had so much fun creating this moving Toy Story scene and my Crayola goodies were the perfect addition to bring it to life! 🖍️🎨🌈✨

With a pile of cardboard sitting in the recycling this week, I decided to get creative and turn it into a fun STEAM project! ♻️📦

This is a great project for getting creative, experimenting, problem-solving, designing and building. I am yet to master the skill of bending wire, a pair of pliers would have definitely come in handy here ✂️✨

A great rainy-day activity that could keep kids creating, building and experimenting for hours! 🤩

I love screen-free coding because it eliminates the challenges of devices, logins and endless loading screens, letting kids dive straight into learning!

As you may have seen on my stories, I have been absolutely loving the Ozobot Bit+ for exploring computational thinking across the curriculum and have put together a step-by-step lesson plan to integrate computational thinking into a primary science lesson.

Grow a crystallized flower 🌸✨

Materials:
Jar or beaker
Borax
Boiling water
Fake flower
Skewer

Method:
🌹 Dissolve 2-3 Tbsp of borax per 250 mls of water
🌹 Stir until most of the borax has dissolved. If you notice excess borax at bottom, not to worry! This means you have a super saturated solution which is perfect 👌🏽
🌹 Attach some string to the flower and use a skewer to hold it in place inside your solution
🌹 Leave for 12-24 hours
🌹 Remove from solution and allow to dry

⚠️ Note ⚠️
Please watch children carefully when working with borax however it’s good to note if you’re worried about fumes that borax has basically zero vapour pressure and is also not a particularly toxic substance. BUT you definitely don’t want to ingest it!
